I just bought an old Root Gamemaster from another Trad Gang member. It is 62" and 54#'s @ 28". I think the markings on the bow are J8116. I am assuming this is a serial number? The bow has a striped shooting window and looks very similar to the bow Jason Westbrock inherited from his granfather that was the subject of a TBM article. When the bow arrived I strung it and the brace with the string provided came out to be just under 9" which seems pretty high. If I untwist the string much more the strands will not be intertwined anymore. What do you think? Thanks for any input.

Archery Archives shows a 62" Game Master with striped site window as 1966 with an 8" brace height. Some of the Root bows specify brace from the edge of the shelf instead of the throat of the grip. Hope this helps.

I wondered if maybe the brace should be measured from the shelf instead since the shelf extends so far from the throat of the grip. If that is the case I will have to go back and remeasure. Thanks for the info.
