This is just a reminder that the 3rd Annual Southern Indiana Bowhunt is rapidly approaching. I'm gonna be there Thursday October 8th through at least the 12th so this is my big hoorah for the year as far as bowhunting goes. I plan to kill something and roast it on a spit sometime over the long weekend. Come enjoy some Southern Indiana autumn beauty.

I'll have to let my dad know. how much is a non resident tag. Billy, PM me with some places to shoot around there. My dad shoots trad and is currently living in Marion 5 days a week working at the GM plant.
-
It's $150 for your first tag (it's either sex but if you are after a buck use this one for your buck) and then $150 for your first bonus antlerless tag if you choose to buy one. After that, antlerless tags are a bargain $24 each.

Thanks John

Here is another reminder. Please let me know if you have any questions. I've got at least half a dozen "fer sures" and that many "mebbes". I've found out a lot more about the area and would love to post a few folks in some choice saddles in the hills of Southern Indiana.

How's the hunting there? I'm new to Indiana; live in Indy near brownsburg. This state is beautiful; I'd love to come, but I've got to figure out my schedule; I'll be in the ICU I'm afraid so I'm guessing my chances are slim to none at getting out of here during a weekend.

Hey Doc,
We'll figure out a way to get into some deer for sure. Indiana has a fine deer herd and lots of nice ones at that. Tags are pretty cheap and access isn't as hard as some places. We have several options for public land within a couple hours in any direction. Pressure is high closer to Indy but bow season isn't that bad at all, especially if you can hunt through the week. Within easy striking distance is Atterbury FWA and Morgan-Monroe State Forest to the south, both of which I know well and can help you put in. Farther south, around where we'll hunt in for the Southern Indiana Bowhunt, is Jackson-Washington SF and The Hoosier National Forest.
I'll be there from Thursday through Tuesday so try and find a day to come down. At any rate, welcome to Indy and let me know if you wanna go to lunch sometime.

THis is just a reminder for anyone intereted in the hunt. It's next weekend and should be fun. If you are planning to come, please let me know. I'm deciding what to do about dinner Saturday evening and might bring a pot of something for everyone.
-
they have us workin 6-7 days/week 10 hr days right now, and I dont get my vacation days till the 16th :( looks like I'm on the sidelines.
Good luck ya'll!!!
-
Figures. I guess it's better than the alternative.
-
plan on it. Might have company this year. should be there friday, saturday, sunday
-
I'll be there one of the days. not sure when yet. How far is is from Brownstown?
-
I probably will not be in camp a whole lot during the day. This is pretty much my bow season so I am hunting a bunch. The one exception is Saturday afternoon, assuming some other folks want to just hand around then.
Looking so forward to this!!!
-
Sounds like a good time. Wished I had not sold my recurves. I have begun the search for the next bow.

I won't be making it this year (again) but am going to one of these times! The 10th and 11th are our youth Deer season in IL and I got a couple anxious boys ready to go! Good luck to all who attend this year and take lots of pictures!
