If there's any doubt about the game to be taken at the Solana, just click on the link that Terry listed in his post and take a look. There are a limited number of slots left. If you are serious, get in touch with me for the details. You will be glad you attended!!!
-
You won't regret getting in on this one! If you're thinking about.ya better do it before it's too late!
I've been there in '08 and'09 and the only reason I'm not going back is that I have another hunt that I just have to do, but I will go back
Read that link from this years hunt......

Bob any chance you can work a deal for a Father/son package?
By the way, tell them I care nothing about the deer, I'm done with aiming at the ground to hit Texas whitetails.

I'm signed up and real excited. The timing of the hunt is great for me too. I'd much rather be spending New Years eve out in the Republic of Texas bush with a bunch of archers than dodging amateurs on the interstate.
I wonder if we will need a passport by then? LOL!
-
Bowdoc, :p
-
Hey Sharpie.....you're just right down the road....hollar at me sometime.... :wavey:
-
Yeah Terry, I look forward to that bud. It's gonna be hard not being there with ya though. That sure was a lot of fun with all the texting Don, Sky, You and I did....good stuff
Solana is a special place... that's for sure :campfire:
-
ttt.

what are the dates I find myself with some time off in January this sounds like a good time.
-
Starts the afternoon of Dec. 30th...and ends at lunch on Sunday Jan 3rd.
-
If we don't fill these last spots VERY SOON we will not have an all trad camp.
If you are interested...please contact us now.
Thanks,
T

Wow, I can't believe there are actually still opening for this hunt!
You won't regret it guys...fill this hunt up! I love to hunt on my own, but I gotta say, group hunts like this are something really special :campfire:
-
Me either Curt.....I could not have been more prouder of the hunt or my trad brothers on this one.
Never was the thought....'Wonder if anyone got anything?'.
It was always ...'Wonder who got what' after every morning hunt, and every evening hunt.
-
Funny sitting in a stand and as action packed as things are, you still can't wait to get back to camp to see "who killed what".....awesome place!
I will return

Anyone...anyone??

Where in Texas is it, what are the particulars about room & board, facilities to hang meat, local services (like meat packing), cost, etc? I've never been to Solana and might be interested but I don't even know where it is. Texas is a big place! From the summary of last year's hunt it certainly looks like a blast.

I pm'd Bob this morning, waiting for reply.
looking for the goods also.

Sorry...had to run a minute ago....
The ranch is about an hour north of Austin, and its 10,000 acres of cattle ranch. The cost is $1200 for the 4 days....hunting, food, and lodging.
You get all the hogs you can kill and 2 does for free.
Bucks do have a trophy fee. Not sure what they are now, but it was $400 for a 9 point or smaller, $600 for a 10 or 11 pointer, $800 for a 12 pointer and over, and a fee for a drop tine...I 'think' its $200.
A $500 deposit is required ASAP if you want in on this hunt.
I've been hunting there 6 seasons....Its a very special place that's hard to describe unless you have experienced it. The property is in the hill country...some of the prettiest part of TX you'll find, and food is great including steak night Saturday night, and the folks that run it are salt of the earth......and just look at the link I posted on page 1....there is plenty of game!
Once again....come join us!

Can not wait for it to get here! Looking forward to sharing a camp with some fellow TGer's.
-
We're not gonna make it this year....We're going to the Pig Gig instead....Time off work, money, other hunts, ETC....We will be there the following year for sure. This is an AWESOME Ranch and the people are great....Gregg and Chris going, make it harder to miss this year.

I'll keep my fingers crossed Terry
-
now if my dad would cut loss with some of that cash he's got and take care of his number one son hunting.I'd love to join you guy's sometime. That hunt looks like about the best thing going.
Come on JC how's about takeing your son hunting ???? your the best dad I ever had so far...bowdoc
-
Curt, Don, and Skyler sorry to hear you all are not going to make it this year. You all will be missed.
If anyone is "on the fence" jump to go! Outstanding folks that run the place, great food, comfortable lodging, and a camp full of traditional shooters... What more could you ask for?
I've been there the last two years, and took a doe the first year as I was being "picky" and waiting on a good buck. Passed several very nice bucks that I should have taken. But this last year I was tagged out on deer after three hunts, and every single hunt except for the last morning I saw what I would call a shooter buck. I seem to have a jinx with the hogs though, I've seen one live hog while on stand in the two years I've been there. But there are plenty on the property as my fellow hunting partners keep bringing them into camp! Just a matter of time I suppose...
Fill these slots folks, you will not be disappointed!
-
