I made a few more up this week since im on vacation. Im kinda playing with the feather position to see what flies the best.
The last pic is to show the strength of cane shafts, the shaft thats being bent in the pic was a spare and will not be shot. I just wanted to see how far you can bend it with no breaks,This shaft finaly broke after another 1/2 of bending past the point in the picture. Lol thats strong!! Amazing material. Oh yea whats the best target to use when shooting flint arrow heads? So what doyou guys think of these.

Sweet arras!!
I use 2 fletch, the best I've found so far, is 5" with helical (LorR) set at 180,up and down; and the top, front just off the shelf/finger.
Because I shoot with a cant, I set my broadheads in the same plane as the string. That gets it out of sight, for me.
Hope that makes sense.

Sir Robin , those are very nice looking! Are you canes from you paret of Alabama? My brother lives in Hartsell, and said he has cane there that I should try. What do you think? Good shootin, Steve

Knife River (Woody Blackwell) brought a big hunk of white styrofoam to a hunt for shooting flint into. It worked great and did not dull the edges.
Those are some fine looking arrows. Looking forward to some hero pics with blood on them.

Thanks guys!
Hey Frank try the cane you will love it!! This is very strong stuff and was used by my tribe for hundreds of years.Tested and approved you might say.
I dont spine any of my cane arrows i just bend them by hand to see how stiff they are. These are part of my primitive set up so try to keep it simple.
