same here, one bow only 41 lb Chek Mate Kings Pawn Deluxe although I thought I might have to get a "mistress". After breaking my elbow (black ice) in January I was finally able to go to full draw 2 days ago. shaky but I'm confident we'll be able to work our problems out, without help from Dr. Phil, in time for a successful summer and fall.
been together since 2006 and don't see a need for a new model although ....lol
-
Well, you only shoot one at a time...
Killdeer

And now I better go check the classifieds for
...the REST of the story!

-
Wish I was !!!!! can't stop the temptation to check out those classifides

Not me. "A man cannot have too many bows". I shot 4 different bows this week end. The only ones that gather dust now are the ones that are too heavy for me anymore. When ever I look at a bow hanging on the rack it brings back such good memories, I just can't get rid of them.

I'm a one bow man also.
I restrict myself to aquiring only one bow a year, that is. Harder then is sounds...trust me on that one.
JL
-
Im sorry, prayers sent.
-
oh you guys are to funny
it's true all true...awhile back I decided to concentrate solely on shooting longbows , well I've been playing around with three of them, and have decided to shoot the Centaur only.
believe it or not, there was a time when I only shot one bow for about 6yrs...and I have to admit that during that time I probably shot the best I ever had. so it's time to get back to that, it's not that I shoot bad now, I still fill the freezer. but there is something to be said for the intimacy developed when you only shoot one bow.
So there ya have it, I'm a one bow, one woman, one truck kinda man
and in case my wife reads this, be assured my dear that what's listed in not in the order of priorities
:biglaugh:
-
:clapper:
-
"Beware The Man That Owns One Bow" ... Alot of truth to that. So, are ya just sayin' you are gonna "shoot one" for a while? Maybe I should do the same. :knothead:
"My other new to me bow shoots higher than my lighter new to me bow that shoots faster then my longer bow that shoots woodies better than carbon but still likes aluminum cause it's 56" with no finger pinch although my 62" is smoother with 125 grains up front compared to my recurve that likes 175 grain points."
Get The Picture?
... mike ...
-
Mikey...welcome to my world. :biglaugh:
-
Mike, I know that picture all to well....
-
What is this "one bow" concept of which you speak? Being a man who can resist anything but temptation, I fail to understand the whole idea. :biglaugh:
-
Confucius say don't fear the man that has shot a thousand bows, but fear the the man that has shot one bow thousands of times :notworthy:
-
Dang Jim that'd only take a couple weeks to shoot 1000 times
There is merit to sticking to just one....good luck at the worlds!!
-
I shot one bow ,, for a little while.
-
Me too. I actually recently bought a bow, and that's all I'm going to shoot for this whole summer and through hunting season.
If it sticks...... who knows... I may never have to make a bow again.
-
Uh, didnt you forget a smiley face or something Keith?!
Larry...good luck. I still think you should shoot a curve at the Muzzy though... :goldtooth:
-
Hm ONE bow man  Why would you do that to your self 1/2 the fun is shooting diffrent Bows don't get me wrong istill have a go to bow but could not live without some backup :knothead:
-
Yeah I am, but mainly due to lack of funding. They always say to beware if the man with one bow because he probably knows how to shoot it. Although that doesn't apply to me.
-
So if not shooting the centaur with the garboon ebony and pierce points, you can send it my way. :bigsmyl:
-
One bow is not enough, you always need at least one backup bow when you go hunting a lot. Even if something odd would happen to bow No. 1, the season would not be ruined because then No.2 would come into play. It is best if those babys are twins though. Believe me, bows can break, can get driven over by trucks in the dark etc.
-
YOUR NOT HELPING THE ECONOMY ANY! LOL
-
Yeah, that's what I kept telling myself on the 3rd Blacktail..."you need a backup"...how many backups do I need? lol
-
I'm gonna say that it is a good thing, one bow, but I bet'cha it won't last!! If it does, you must be able to resist temptation better than I !!
-
One by land, two buy see. Hat's off to anyone who can own just one.
-
So i'm passing some time surfing the Stickbow.com classifieds, when lo & behold the add reads: Centaur wanted,d.d.carbon elite wanted, willing to pay 10,000. thats right 10,000. So I click on the contact button cause I've got this feeling, & it say's....Larry! Yup, our very own Larry Marshall.!! I thought it went somthing like "You heard right I'm a 1 bow, 1 woman, 1 truck kinda guy " Hmmmm, I'm sure there's a reasonal explaination. Sorry bud, I hada shine the light. :wavey:
-
ok, so that one bow thing didn't last long...but I've got a good excuse, planning an elk hunt in Oregon and their regs require I shoot a couple lbs heavier than my current bow...A guy can have a back up bow and still be a one bow man can't he ???
did I put 10,000? meant to put 00.00 better go ck that before someone holds me to it lol
-
I'm a one bow Man too, one after the other. : )
-
If you are concentrating on only shooting LB's, I've heard it is best to not even have a recurve in the house.
Dibs on the DAS :)
Steve
-
By one bow I believe it's going to be one brand considering the need for a few more pounds of draw wieght not to mention that it's nice to have a lower weight to work form
Dibs on ???? Larry know's

Larry,
I said the same thing once upon a time. And the fairy tale came to a swift end when I bought a couple more bows to go with my "one bow", man! ;) :)

The Silvertip I got coming in September will determine wether I'll be a one bow fella!! Jason
-
Yeah, I'm a one bow man, too. Now matter how many bows I have, I still need just "one' bow more.
-
I have shot 4 or 5 bows that really shot well for me. (I no longer have any of them.) Last year I got a Beeler longbow and connected immediately with it. I won the only two things that I shot with it.., one of them being the Eagle Eye competition at Denton Hill and later one at Guilford Bowhunters in Kernersville. The day before yesterday someone came into the shop and said that he really wanted this Beeler bow. I hate to see someone want something so bad...,so I traded with him. I felt good that I made him so happy, but sad that I no longer had the bow that made me so happy. Oh well, now I have a nice set of golf clubs. Oh hell, I don't play golf!
I often say that I have only one wife but have a hundred (or more) bows. Now I need to find another really good shooter. Anybody got a nice 45-50 lb bow who needs some nice golf clubs and bag?
