Hi everyone.
I have looked on Goldtips site and it shows the 5575 Tradtional Hunter series at .400, but I am wondering if anyone can tell me if they are a true .400 or are they slightly different....say .385 or .425
Just trying to figure out if they will work well for my longbow which is a quick Hill Country Harvest Master 47# at 28", but I am loading the front end up at 400 grains, and wondering if they will work. My hunting buddy has a set of Patriots that are spined at 45-60 and he has them cut to 28.5 right now, and they are flying well. I want a more traditional looking arrow and really like the look of the lighter Goldtip traditionals.
So if you can help me with the true spine measured at 28" that would be great.
Thanks
Paul

I have some 55/75 GTs. I spined them as you would spine a wooden shaft, 2# weight, 26" centers, and they spine at 76#. This is for a 28" arrow.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Scattershot and Elkslayer.
Tried to e-mail them but their website is not setup for that, so I may just have to call them.
Scattershot. What did you show on the dial indicator??? if possible can you give me the measurement to the third decimal point?
Cheers

Norse, I measured a friend's 55/75 GT's and they came in at 77 pounds; that's approx. 0.338" on the indicator, using 26" centres & 2 pounds weight.

Norseman, my spine tester is an old crude one, so I just got the spine value, not the deflection. Sorry.

Gold tips and most carbons are spine tested with a 1.97# weight at 28". I think its 1.97#, someone correct me if im wrong.
