So I have a 60" 45#@28 Howatt Coronado and i just got a new flemish string. I am trying to get everything all set up correctly so I can bareshaft some new shafts. How do I determine the optimum brace height? Thanks

First of all I would shoot a hundred or so shots to stretch the string before beginning using a properly spined and weighted arrow. (around 450 gr.)
Set the brace height at the minimum (about 7")
Shoot a few arrows at close range and note how the bow performs.
Increase the brace height by putting 5 more twists in the bowstring by twisting in the same direction as this will shorten the bowstring. Also check and adjust the nocking point position which should be about 1/2" above center.
Shoot another few arrows and note how the bow performs.
Repeat the steps until the bow performs at its quietest and with least vibration. This is the ideal brace height for the bow with that particular type of bowstring. Keep a record of this brace height for future reference. My guess is that bow will perform best at about 8"-8 1/2".

47 lbs @ 28.
