I have older bow that would make an excellent 1st bow for someone just starting out in traditional archery. It is a Bear Minuteman takedown recurve. 60 inches long, 45# at 28" draw, aluminum riser, new string. It is in excellent condition and shoots well.
Here is the catch. It must go to someone who is new to the sport. After you are done with it, or move on to a better bow, you must pass it on to another archer along with the same conditions to the giveaway.
Winner will either pick the bow up at my place (Wasilla, AK) or pay for shipping.
Let me know if you are interested. If there is more that one archer interested, I will randomly select someone later in the week.

I have a friend who has lost everything and is about to move in with me. I got him started in trad archery a month ago and he would be thrilled to have your bow.

My wife is talking about getting in to trad bows. She has a wheelie bow now.

Hey Dan
Please add my wife into the names. This would be great to get her into shooting. That way we can make it a family event with our two kids.
Thanks
Sean

I am just getting into traditional bow hunting. All I've done so far is a lot of reading! If you could toss my name in the hat it'd be much appreciated!
-
I have a former student interested in starting. I would pay for the shipping. Add him/me to the list.
-
I am completely new to the sport and although I am building a bow myself, it would be great to have one to practice with until I have a stick of my own. I would definitely be willing to consider this a loaner...
-
Hey guys.
I put the names in a hat and drew one out. The winner is MAINEAC. Congratulations on the win. I will send you a PM so I can get a mailing address. (That is unless you prefer to pick it up in person)
Maineac – I am expecting to see some progress reports from the new archer.
On a side note -
I noticed that quite a few people were looking for a bow for someone other than themselves. I know of no other sport where the people actively and enthusiastically encourage outsiders to join our ranks. My hat goes off to all of you for sharing your passion with others.
Take care and God bless,
-Dan

Congrats to your student. I can't wait to see pictures.

Good for you Dan, it warms a soul to see these sorts of gestures!
