Wait until you give a "virgin" knife its first sharpening.

You'll be amazed that anything could leave the factory that "unperfect" and still cut anything.

Fantastic product!!  I got the knife sharpener and used it on a never used bear razorhead from 51 years ago and got it hair shaving sharp.  Turns out it was moose killing sharp too.  A field dressed 1040 pound moose fell to it on Sept. 30.  Thanks for a great product.

I bought my KME at Denton Hill last year.  Best sharpener that I own. Puts a super edge on my broadheads.

Do you guys buy the stones that he offers with the KME Broadhead sharpener or do you just use a stone you already have?

Good question ishoot4thrills. How well does this sharpener work on mounted broadheads? Any awkwardness?

If you have stones, you might get by with the BH Sharpener, but the Knife needs a special size - its with the kit....fwiw - the stones he sells are some of the best available.

If you have any questions, ask Ron; you won't find better customer service anywhere.  Call him and he'll talk you through whatever issue you're having.

I bought the broadhead sharpener and it is awesome, the bevel now looks like it was machined on the broadhead. DO NOT run your finger down the broadhead, they do not feel sharp due to the steep angle , but they will cut cut cut!!!!

I just thought my shaving sharp broadheads were sharp before I bought this jig. I'm still learning with this jig , wondering how hard the edge will be to touch up after shooting something with it. As of right now it is the best ever IMO .

Yes

I use the knife sharpener for BHs. In fact, I use the knife sharpener for ANYTHING I want to make sharp.

I spent an hour last night sharpening 2 knives. They are now so sharp I'm afraid my eyeballs will start bleeding if I look at them the wrong way.

And like others have said, if you have any questions, give Ron a call. I have never experienced better customer service from any company, selling any product.

Thanks everyone,

To answer a couple of the questions:

With the BH sharpener I like to start on a very coarse stone. BTW, coarse and x-coarse stones are our friends, they save lots of time and who wants to spend hours sharpening heads??? Get them sharp as possible with the coarsest stone you have, then you can zip through a couple finer grit stones to finsh polishing/honing in no time. The stones we include in the kit are the same ones I use myself. Just about any 2 inch wide bench stones will work though.

You can  touch up heads mounted on shafts with the BH sharpener but you'll need a bit of working room cause the shaft is gonna be traveling with the sharpener and BHD.

The knife sharpener is really a better choice for sharpening "on the shaft" because the stone is moving rather than the BHD and shaft. One important point though- Both sharpeners are honing tools. If you're sharpening laminated tip heads that require a lot of stock removal on the first "out of the pack" sharpening, it's a very good idea to get them somewhere near sharp with a file before going to either sharpener. Again just a time saver, and by using the file to hog the metal off, you're not asking more of the stones than they're designed to do.

Thanks again everyone,

Ron
