Looking into a hunt for Mt. Lion and was needing some info or suggestions on the best state or any outfitters that any of you guys have had good luck with. If any of you guys are interested in going maybe we can work something out.

if you hunt the big predator fairly-ie no track hunting by 4 wheeler ,no dogs, then you will probably get a chance to live in the woods a long time.or you could do guided fly overs and 4whl hunt with dogs and kill one in a cpl days with all the pride it deserves.

Southern Idaho is a GREAT spot for lions. I have a friend or two there.....

Try Fulldraw outfitters in Colorado ( Fred Eicler). He shoots a recurve. I took one with him back about 2005. Great guy.

Easy shakey, I'm pretty sure that ag was asking for a good outfitter, not what you think about lion hunting. As for an answer to your question ag, try Fred at fulldraw outfitters in CO as said above. Good luck!

Give Fred Eichler a call.

You can come walk the river bottom a half-mile from my place and they'll find you! I'v had 'em follow my tracks towards my duck blind several times.
Sorry that I can't give you an outfitter name, but I know there are a lot of guys running cats in the valley. It might be worth poking around on the internet for folks in the Bitterroot.
Good luck.

Some of you have commented about my Green Machine (Pronghorn longbow). Well, I got it in a trade from John Turner from Idaho. I recall at the time he used to advertise in TBM and took a limited number out each year for lion, mostly traditional guys. Maybe someone else knows more about him. I know he was great to deal with on my bow.

Give John Turner a call at 208-423-5781.
I know he was in process of selling his outfit but not sure if thats a done deal yet , if you can , he's the man to go with.
Good area and lots of cats , southern Idaho.

Granby guides in BC. There a lion hunting family for sure.

Thanks guys for all the info.

Another recommendation for John Turner.

Look into Michael Schneider (search goinghunting.com or United Guide and Outfitter). He had a great cat area in BC a couple years ago. I've been 2 times in southern Idaho (snow was a problem the second time, got involved in a death march the first time, no lion). If I went again it would be with Michael - I've spent around 5 weeks in his camps moose hunting and he's a first class guy.
I've hunted all across the US, Canada, Australia from well above the Arctic Circle to under the equator, and mountain lion hunting is the most physical hunt I've ever been on.
