I can't stand to wait any longer to show ya'll the BEAUTIFUL creation that Mr. Bill Dunn has put together for me.
Everytime that someone would post those pictures of that Morrison that was made out of Ebony & Tulipwood.........my keyboard keys would stick for a week from the drool.
I had been wanting a Zipper of my own for quite some time, and put in my deposit earlier this year. I couldn't decide whether I wanted the Extreme riser, or the SXT riser. After having the opportunity to shoot the SXT riser at ATAR this past summer........my decision was made. The SXT it was.
The time passed, quicker than I thought it would........but.............slower than I wanted it to.
My name came up, and Bill has been working his magic........and Thank-You.......Tracy for sending me the pictures. It will bind me over until the bow arrives.
Bill...........YOU tha man !!!

-
Don, thats one good looking bow :notworthy:
-
Extremly nice looking bow.....have fun.
-
The only bad thing that will come from this beautiful bow. Is how bad Don is going to make me look, shooting beside of me with that work of art.
-
Thanks guys........ :bigsmyl: She is purdy, aint she. I think I'm gonna name her "Red" because she has been a royal pain in the keyster for Bill to build for me, and she's gonna be as wicked as a "red-headed" step-child.
Bryan, don't sell yourself short buddy. You've been shootin' rings around me every since Bill sent you yours. :help:

Im heading to the post office right now! :goldtooth: I dont know what you will be shooting for arrows, but it realy liked the 35/55 with a 200 grain point I was shooting out of it.I think Red is an excelent name for this bow.All the trouble is worth it though. She shoots as good as it looks.Im sure you will enjoy it.Thanks for your patience
Bryan,Your bow is no slouch in either. That thing is gorgous.
Bill

Winterhawk,
You bringing that beauty to Compton this year? Want to put my finger prints on it.
Jerry
-
Congrats, nicest looking Zipper I've ever seen.
-
Oh wow that is one sharp zipper. Bill once again has out done himself as always.
-
Thanks again......guys. :D
Bill......well it just so happens that I've got a pretty good supply of those 35/55's with 50 grain brass inserts in them.......I know I've got several 145 grain field tips too. I should be good to go. How's that for service guys, I'll bet he took all the "misses" out of it for me too.
Wayne.......we need to get together sometime and go shoot out at the club.
Mark.......that bowrack that I got from you, only enhances the look of ANYTHING that I hang on it.
Ron........the specs are 64" longbow limbs with carbon lam's and foam core 45# @ 29".......ebony and tulipwood riser with tulipwood veneers on the belly. I'm gonna wait until either I, or Bill finds a nice set of matched copperhead skins and have him put them on the back of the limbs over the carbon for me.
Bob.........I'm glad that the arrows are shooting well for you, and you are quite welcome sir.
Winterhawk1960

Jerry......if we get to come up to Comptons this year, it will definately be with me. You are more than welcome to shoot her......sir. How's that arm healing up ???

-
congrats, nice bow . did you get a matching quiver?
-
Tracy did a great job on your bow. Bill is just the pretty face that helps sales :scared: I love my 3 Zipper bows and couldn't ask for better service. Especially being the pin in the arse that I am.Looking forward to shooting some new Zipper limbs at K-ZOO in a couple of weeks.
-
Congrats, That's one Sweeeet looking bow!!
-
Wow!!! :notworthy: :clapper: Your going to love that bow. Liked mine so much, I have another one on order. :biglaugh:
Bill
-
That gorgeous red head I dated in my youth was not as pretty as that bow. WOW!
-
very niiiiiiiiiice
-
Winterhawk,
The arm healed fine in five weeks without surgery. Not going to Cabelas this year though. The Rose Oak Bow I bought from Brandon is without a doubt the best I have ever owned. Saving my pennies to buy another one.
We already have reseveration at the Motel and hope to see you there.
Jerry
-
Don...
I'm officially "retired" now. Should have time to shoot with you as soon as the snow melts enough to see the targets!
I'll call you in the next week or two.
Wayne
-
Jerry,
Glad that arm healed up without any surgery. I am really wanting to make it up to Comptons again this year. Great time.......with Great people, if we come.....we will be staying in the same motel again. I hope to see you there.
Wayne,
We don't have to wait until the snow melts to shoot out at the club, it's indoors. I'll look forward to hearing from you.

That's a nice one. Hope that you enjoy it.

Well..........the postman made a trip to the door this morning, he needed a signature. :goldtooth: :jumper:

let's see some more pics of it in action
-
O.K........"Red" arrived here on Monday Jan. 11th. I have had her out to the club and shot indoors three times now.
Time for a little update. Words will have to suffice until I can get some pictures of her "in action" as well as the results.
The first time out, and my first group of four arrows.....I took the nock off of my second arrow, with my third arrow. :saywhat: I can't get over how "consistently well" I shoot this bow. If anyone is wondering.....or considering having Bill build them a bow, I would HIGHLY recommend the SXT. When I got on the list, I was unsure of whether I wanted the Extreme Riser or the SXT Riser. I shot them both down at ATAR this past June and made my decision. You can't go wrong with any of the Zipper line of bows. I don't know where you could find nicer, more accomidating people than Bill and Tracy Dunn.......if you have the chance to shoot any of his bows at any of the shoots that he attends, and don't.......well....your missing out on something that will really surprise you.
Oh, and I shot her through a chronograph last week also. My GT 35/55's with a 50 grain brass insert and 125 grain tips for a total weight of 458 grains averaged 185 ft/sec. She is 64" and 45#@29".....foam cores, and carbon lams on the backside.
Did I tell ya'll.........I REALLY like this bow !!!!!
Well..........I do, and Thank-You, Bill and Tracy for building "Red" for me. :notworthy:

TOO NICE
-
Good Stuff!!! Thanks for the update.
Bill
-
Great Review, EXCEPT we need MORE PICS of that beauty! You're right about those Zippers "ZIPPING" an arrow down range. I got two used from TG'ers recently and have been really enjoying putting them thru their paces. Great bows for sure. Congrats, and don't leave us hanging too long for those pics, it just ain't right to tease too much!
-
That one has that special look. Beautiful!
-
Beautiful bow.
-
A big grin from a satisfied customer makes it all worth while. :bigsmyl:
Thanks Winterhawk you have made my day.
Bill
Hey jwilliam I have something new that you have been asking about.See you at kalamazoo.Oh by the way did I mention it is VERY VERY SWEET!
-
O.K......I got outside a little bit this afternoon and even talked the "better half" into taking a few pictures for me.

And a couple of action shots.....you'll have to pardon the "ugly fella" in the pictures. The beauty of "Red" makes me look even worse.

Nice !! :bigsmyl: :bigsmyl:

Don,
You've got to take a pic of the bow assembled, strung up and at brace. That bow is a looker for sure. I bet it'll be hotter than a fire cracker on the 4th of July. ;) :D :biglaugh:

man after my own heart who shoots 3 fingers under and with wood arrows to boot!
Bill
-
Beautiful bow...and nice quiver as well.
I had the pleasure of shooting Bill's bow with foam carbon limbs for a couple days. All I can say is what a shooter!
-
Great pictures  Man I sure love those Zippers!!! Everyone is so pretty. Really makes it hard to deceide what woods to use in my next one. :banghead: :goldtooth:
Bill
-
WildmanSC......those are the Gold Tip 35/55 trads, and you wouldn't believe the people that have been fooled into thinking that they were wood. Actually, those are some of Big Jim's blemishes, with my new fletching color combo.
Jwilliam.......I know what the "surprise" is, and I expect a report on your "opinion" after you get a first hand experience with it.
Cody.....Thanks......and she shoots even better than she looks.
Winterhawk1960
-
Chris.......Thanks for the compliment, but I have to give the credit to Bobby Ratliff. He sure makes a "sweet" quiver, I am very pleased with it.
Winterhawk1960
-
I will let you know when I get back home.
-
That is one great looking bow. I had the opportunity to test drive one of Bill's bows last weekend, and it was everthing and more of what I thought it would be and what I'd heard about Zippers.
-
Winterhawk That has to be one of the BEST LOOKING ZIPPER I'VE EVER SEEN. I thought my Diamondback was up there but no comparison!!! Bill is a great guy to do business with!!!
-
Possum2.......just wait until Bill puts some copperhead skins on the backside for me, when some becomes available.
Of course that will be "after" I limber up the limbs quite a bit more. ;)
Winterhawk1960
-
KeeeeeYowwwwww what a beaut!

Hey Don,
That's a great looking bow you have there! I bet it shoots great!

Arnold
-
WOW!very nice!

Thanks guys.... :campfire:
Arnold, that sounds very interesting. There WILL be a bow in my future from you. Thank-You for the compliment.....you definitely know how to build both a beautiful and performing bow yourself.
