Howdy folks, been awhile since I have posted much or visited with a lot of you...sometimes life gets in the way of our passions.... Hopefully with the new year will come some new and better things for us all....
New Years day I had a chance to shoot a Javi with a stone point that I have been carrying around in my quiver for over 1 1/2 yrs....hit a little high and spined it....went down right there!
Here's the arrow and point from an earlier hunt (with my Shrew):

After the shot...broke it:

I was hunting with a recurve that Greywolf (Mark from Hawaii)built for me in 07...(I keep this bow in a very special bow box that HO'NE'HE JEFF built!!)
This was a BIG Javi....I didn't weigh it but it was probably around 80 pounds.

The next day in the same area, I had this FAT little fella come in...this time I used a Snuffer mounted on an Arrow Dynamics Trad arrow...doble lunged him (tried to clean him up a bit for the pics without much success.)

If thats the case then maybe I was wrong :bigsmyl:
But I really do wish I would have weighed it to see how close to 57# it was! I've hauled LOTS of 50# feed and corn bags and this thing felt significantly heavier!
Thanks for that info Curtis, glad you are getting around better!!

Danny, isn't that the bow you want to trade me for the Crow Creek? LOL!! I'm thinkin' "NOT"! Looks like you started the New Year with some blood on the ground! Nice to see you back! Mike

Yep Mike, I won't ever let this one go, it was built for me and then given to me as a gift. Amazing that someone would do something like that for a guy like me!! :saywhat:
Good to be back! Hope to visit with you some more soon!!

Barry, when I released that arrow and it was high I was afraid the same thing was going to happen to me!! But it managed to get the spine and the top of a lung and died right there. I got lucky, I don't like bad hits, but they are going to happen sometimes...... :knothead:

just wanted to take a minute and thank all the guys i shared a camp with for 5 days amist chasing those little ninjas most of you call javelina! Mark, Mike, Brock, Craig and Mack, Paul and my old time hog chasing partner Barry! I truly had the best time listening to stories in the cook shack and around the camp fire! Curtis, thanks again for putting up with my geeked out self and yes i do now believe you when you said 10 yrds was too far! and i also personally thank you for getting my new years diet and excersice program kicked off. I swear that thing weighed 700 pounds and it was more like a 4 mile drag :) !
i sincerely hope the best for all you guys in your future hunts and every last one of you are always welcome in burns flat anytime! however april is best because after we get your turkey we can go catch some walleye to have for dessert!
and i mean that!
Good luck to the future javi hunters and if you guys have half as much fun as i did you'll not want to leave
