Title: Dumb question about cat whiskers

I have four of them on a bow I just bought- work great.

But how do you take them off? They are tighter than a 5 year olds grip on a popsicle.

Just wondering before I spend an hour getting them off since everyone else does, or NOT, because they are cut off.

I don't know of a way to salvage cat whiskers once they are separated.

Since they work, why take them off?

Unstring the bow and pull the strands of the string apart.

If they're through the string, instead of clamped onto it, you should be able to take the string off your bow, unwind the string and pull them through. They may be anchored with a bit of serving in which case you will need to do some careful surgery.

They are knotted on. A very tight knot too BTW.

 I wanted to see if the brace height the bow is at now is its sweet spot by shooting it w/o the silencers. Its dead quiet now. And use 2 of them on another bow since I don't want four of them on a string...

Does it shoot alright? I'd say that if it's shootin good, and it's quiet like ya say, than don't mess with it. If it ain't broke don't fix it. JMO though...

However you decide to remove them be sure to unstring the bow first...I've seen people do it with tension on the string and I believe they were lucky not to have an acident working a blade so close to a strung bow

I have a bow with cat whiskers that are tied on. I want to swap them out for Hairy Beavers.

So, you cut them off? Do I call my surgeon?

Since they're pretty much unsalvageable once they're spread out, then just take a knife and cut em off the string when it's not on the bow. I could actually slide mine off of the ends though. They weren't death grip tight on the string but they wouldn't move when strung.

I'll cut them off. Once I find the best BH, a new string and finish the new FF ready tips, I may put some back on.
