Got a quick spine question for the experts, I have a new Dwyer l/b in the mail that is 62-63lb at 27in. Should I go with 400 or 340s. I plan on loading up the front with 150 WW, 100gn brass inserts,and 7-8 in of tapered oak internal footing (2in parallel). I plan on cutting them to 28.25 to 28.5in. If i have to use a heavier BH I will, I just do not want to replace the string with a 6-8 strand and then have to buy stiffer arrows or loose weight up front to compensate. Any tips would very appreciated.

Forgot to mention three inches of 2018 for outside footing as well.

Plugged some numbers in Stu's. Not sure of the how the Dwyer's sideplate is cut but used +1/8 from center.
A CX Heritage 250 @ 28.5 w/ no footing, 150 head, 100gr insert, 5" Fletch comes in at 64.3#
Your bow at 63#@27 w/ fastflight is 64.2#
I'm thinking if you want to foot you would have to bump up to the CX Heritage 350.

I would go with the 400's for a longbow that is most likey not cut to center.I shoot 400's out of my longbows with similar weight that you are shooting.One thing to I do not cut my carbons without shooting them bare and then trim and tune.I tune and trim my carbons until I achieve the dynamic spine I'm looking for and I let that determine the final length of my carbon arrows.

Probably 340's but I always try to be a little flexible on point weight and or arrow length.I let the bow and arrow tell me what it likes.
I will tell you,I installed the internal oak footings exactly to directions and messed up a dozen arrows that were to noisy to hunt with in my opinion.The internal footing smacked the shaft during paradox and made a noise similar to shooting with a very loose point.I sold them at a loss.
Others have reported this and some seem to do just fine.You could tap those arrows on your palm and hear the click.They were not loose either.You may have no problem but what I am advising is foot one arrow only and shoot it a lot before doing them all.The internal footing has to be epoxied in and if you do it right,it isn't coming out.Test one first before you commit.

I would start wih my aroows at 30" and cut from the knock end as you bare shaft tune, or how ever you like too tune and cut down from there, if cut too center I"d say 340 with the foc you want if not cut too center I'd go 400.

Thanks everbody for the imput. I still am not quite sure what get. I am leaning towards the 400s only because I like to draw till my bh hits my finger. Also from what I have read from this site, its better to be a little weak than a little stiff.
