Hello Guys, Look what was waitin for me when I got home from work... Well first I'll tell you about the bowyer and ect.. John Lee is the bowyer who made me this bow.. John does not sell his bows and only a hand full of people have one of Johns longbows I'm one of the lucky ones.. John and Howard Hill where great friends back in the late 1960s and early 1970s.. A few years before Howard passed away.. Howard took John under his wing to show him how he made his bows.. John got to the point where up to the last few years of Howard's life he was shooting some of the bows that John made for him.. Well Anyways every year John sets up his big Howard Hill display at Kzoo.. And over just a few years John and I have became great friends.. Well after I found out John made bows a few years ago I got to shoot one and John asked how does it shoot I'm like it shoots greats better then any other Hill bow I have ever shot.. Well this year when I seen John he was like I'm going to be sending you something in a few weeks that was in Jan with John I didnt have clue to what it was going to be... Well to make a long story short this bow showed up... Man I love the norrow limbs and the riser is to die for... This bow was made just like one of Howards own bows he shoot back in the 1950s that John had on display.. So John if your reading this I wanted to say Thanks for the bow and to you and Jack for all the help..
Now I'll shut up and post some pics :) )
The bow is 45@28 Yew Riser & Bamboo core :archer:

Well a good bow also needs some good arrows and back quiver the arrows and back quiver where made by Johns good friend Jack ( who is also a great friend of mine) The arrows where made like some of Howards from the 1950s.. Big feathers and mid-nocks.. I'm a lucky to have all three.. This is a great bow and arrow combo...

Hey Cody, Congratulations on your new bow. As you know Johns bows are made just like Howards and John chooses people like you that he knows are great Hill fans to build these bows for.
You and "The Champ" are probably off at the Big Rabbit Hunt this morning. I hope you have good luck, I know you're going to enjoy this bow for years to come.
I'm expecting you to win the Howard Hill event at the GLLI this year with your Lee/Hill bow... ... :archer:

Now that right there's what I call a bow. The deep-core riser looks like it would fit real nice in the hand and the two-tone look is striking. Add some real arrows (real = wood) and there ya'go...just like they used to do it. Kinda' makes me want to grab the Big Five and go shoot some ice blobs off the bag in the back yard.
Like they used to do it...too bad that phrase doesn't mean too much in archery these days.
Enjoy your shootin', Cody!
-
Super nice bow Cody!
-
Looks good! Nice bow.
-
WOW, good for you Cody!!!ENJOY
-
Good stuff!

If Cody don't mind I will detail the bow.
It is a cool bow to say the least. It is NARROW. about 1" at the widest and tips are maybe 3/8" Tiller was sweet, just a hint of whip end to it.
The riser was two tone as TSP said. the riser being yew and the sides of the riser are laminated with glass. I would guess for stiffness. Black glass back and white belly.
The deep riser grip was just about right, 2" I would guess. It is a nice bow, unlike any other Hill style that can be seen today. I really enjoyed looking at Jon Lees and David Millers collection of Hill and Shultz Bows at KZOO this year. THAT IS SOME COOL STUFF.
Congratulations again Cody
