I have narrowed it down to wanting a red crown on my next dozen. I can't make up my mind on Feather, crest, nock, and stain options. Please post some pics of your arrows dipped in red, if you will be so kind.

Here ya go, simple and red

Not easy to see in the picture, but the crown is analine dye and the crest is acrylic paint of a slightly different hue.

Good ol' Rustoleum dip for the crown on these Sweetland Forgewoods.

Uh? Do any of you guys make them for other folks? The are hot!

These are by Rick Stillman of THE FEATHERED SHAFT -- top shelf all the way!

I gave this bunch a different treatment. I'll try some red cap sometime. This is Fiebings Leather Dye. They hold up well.

Wow! Impressive work you guys! I would be scared to shoot them.
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL.

Pretty arrows shoot just as well as ugly arrows. It only makes sense to make them look good!

Reddogge- those are GORGEOUS. WOW. Can I copy them??
-
Have at it. Glad you liked them. I used them this past week shooting around my little range and they were easy to find. I used natural barred feathers and dyed the green ones with Rit. I knicknamed them "The Red Arrows of Death".
-
Are those for hunting, or for targets?
I've always stayed away from red on the shaft for hunting arrows because I "read" my arrow after the shot for clues about the hit- and I just always thought red would make that more difficult.
What do you guys think?
-
What Ray said . There is a lot of important , pertinent info on a pass through arrow.
-
I use them for targets only. They show up well in grass and dirt.

There is a lot of arrow shaft before you get to the crown -- if there is no blood there you missed anyway. I can see a red crown and feathers pretty well in the woods and since deer don't see color all that well the red probably looks gray to them. If you like red go ahead and use it. I have a dozen arrows now with red crowns and I think they look pretty good -- but I like white feathers with no crown, yellow feathers with white crown, etc. too.
Heck, I like arrows.
