Yesterday I received a T/D Pronghorn longbow from a fellow TG'er. It's 62" 54#@28". My intention was to shoot this bow until my new 60" Pronghorn arrived in August. I shot it some yesterday and a bit today. After seeing how sweet it shoots, and how it shoots to point of aim I don't think this baby is going anywhere come August.
Here's a couple of pics of the bow and a 3 shot group I shot this morning at 25 yards.

I have never met a Pronghorn I did not like.
It was a Pronghorn that convinced me several years ago that a longbow can be accurate and comfortable to shoot. They are great bows!
-
Nice bow and good shootin!!!

Nice shooting and nice bow,I miss my Pronghorn that I traded.

Thanks guys. In all the years that I've been shoooting trad bows I had never shot a Pronghorn before. I didn't know what I was missing.

Wow, figured would be longer. Thanks for the replies, I've never shot one but I think I definitely will have to have one of his at some point.

Great Shooting there Fred, I was wondering I don't see as many one piece Pronghorns as the three piece?
Can anyone chime in with shooting characteristics of the two?
Thank you

I shot a 3-D course today with my 56" one piece. (It weighs 15 oz's.) It was a dream to carry.
I left my three piece 58" at home to stay warm.
-
very nice.
-
I have two Pronghorn 3-pc. bows. They are absolutely a GREAT shooting bow. Smooth draw, quick, quiet, and no recoil.
-
Good luck with the new bow Fred....Herb makes a fine product.
-
I own a 1pc and a 3pc, now that you shot the best, sell the rest...PR
-
1/4 away, congrats on your pronghorn. Saw you interested in my pronghorn from the stickbow and I'm glad things worked out. They are awesome bows and a dream to pack through the hills. Still have my second pronghorn just can't pull the trigger on letting her go. Enjoy and send some more pics.
p.s. my handle on stickbow is "griz".

The new Pronghorn arrived today and to say I am pleased is an understatement!!!
Herb really out did himself on this one!
Ziricote riser with a vertical Zebrawood stripe with black glass accents, Limbs are Bamboo core with Zebrawood veneers.
The nicest Pronghorn I have had the pleasure to shoot.

Pat, Oh man that's a beauty, congrats!! Love your choice of woods. Best of hunting with it. What are the specs? Fred
-
Pat,very nice indeed.Congrats,I hope to see it at work.
-
I own one pronghorn 3-piece, grey actionwood riser with grey stained all bamboo limbs 51#@27" 60". Not the fastest bow, but extremely stable. Pat, that is one of the best looking wood combos I've seen. Absolutely beautiful! My pronghorn did its job last yr. on this nice KS buck. Thankfully, I held it together and did mine.

Great looking bow Pat. I'm really liking the one I got from you.
-
she is a looker Pat that is for sure.
-
Awesome Pronghorn!! Love the woods. Congrats!! :notworthy:
-
Thanks everyone!
It took a little coaxing to get Herb on board for the vertical stripe in the riser,....but man did he come through!
I had a late appointment so I just got to put some arrows through it. Stable and shoots where you look like all Pronghorns.
-
Tater, that is a beauty. Best looking pronghorn I have seen. Thanks for posting pictures. Craig
-
That bow is sweet! I love them wood combos.
-
Very nice piece of work right there Tater!

Hey Fred,
Good luck with your pronghorn. I hada one peice that I ended up selling since it was a little overweight for me and ended up buying a matlock predator X which is a similar bow. I also bought a heartstopper off of you years ago. That was a good shooting bow too.
-
Hey Jeff, How ya doin ? Been a long time. I'm really looking forward to getting the pronghorn. I have a "new to me" one that I'm shooting now and I'm very happy with it.
-
Yeah, I kind of regret selling the pronghorn, i took 3rd place longbow division at Muzzy with it in 1994. I'm thinking about getting a takedown longbow so maybe a new pronghorn is in my future. Best of luck with your new bows.
