well wanted to play around with some different alluminums that i have laying around.well long story short i had some 2219s cut to 30.5 with my draw length at 29 out of my bw pma2 60lbs.they bare shafted slightly weak..so being the guy i am went in and fletched 1 up.there flying like darts with 150 up front.well then i threw a snuffer on it and i think i found my hunting arrows.total weight of 620 grians and lots of thumps behind it..why is it that they shoot well when they say its suppose to be for a 90 lbs bow,so ive been told it was...either way i like em and going to hunt with them.....anyone else shot an arrow that wasnt suppose to spine out of their bow..sorry about the rant

Yes, I def hear ya.... I , in fact , did the same thing with some 2219's... mainly bc I read an article by G Fred Asbel, he spoke about the plus's of a heavy arrow.... I shot it out of my 52# recurve... flew like darts... slow darts, but darts all the same...
I was told by many shoot what shoots accurate. I had to put 325 up front to get then to stabalize. My maim problem was that they dropped like rocks....
My new LB im having built is set up just for them, but its a 67#

I shoot a 54# bow using 2216s. They're cut about an inch longer than my draw and fly perfectly with 125gr points. I think my bow just likes the diameter.

The widow being cut past center makes a big difference... Most guys have to shoot heavier than normal spines because of that...

They have a rougly a 90# spine,doesn't mean they are for 90# bows.Like said your Widow is cut past center and requires a stiffer spine arrow.I mean I had a 68#@27 JD Berry that I shot 85-90# woods arrows out of it and it wasn't cut past center.

Stu's calc using the info provided shows the set-up to have the shaft slightly weak.

SA2 55# @ 31"- 2219s with 145gr up front were the ticket for 15+ years. Have to say though, that I switched five years ago to GT trad 5575 carbs with 250gr up front - they have been even better shooters for me.
