Title: Nock Question
Post by: bkbk12 on July 07, 2010, 10:11:00 AM
I just got my ACS in and the strings that came with it are loose fitting for my nocks it has a SBD skinny string and it is served twice which is loose but if I go over one more time 3 wraps is too tight all I have is #4 serving any suggestions it seems to shoot fine loose but I figured a loose nock could have erratic flight at some point if the release is not right, also I was wondering if I put a ncking point on the bottom if that would help maybe so the y nock would not be able to move.

Some have suggested to me to use dental floss. You can layer it very precisely to get the fit you want. I have seen posts also that suggest 2 nocks will help your consistency. Good luck, hope this helps.

go with a double nok, it won't hurt.

Double nocking points and wrap sewing thread between them to get a size that will fit your nocks.Or you could change nocks.

I wouldn't shoot knocks that are real loose.
I have had them fall off from the string at or just before release and it is exactly like a dry fire.
Very unnerving.

I've heard the dental floss too. Most likely the easiest fix. You could try different dia serving to get the right fit.

Dental tape layers on better than floss. It's what Dan Quillian used.

With all the good advice above, I use Arizona Z-Nocks that use a snap-on design for positive string fit, resulting in a smooth release. The angled throat design keeps the nock on the bowstring at any angle. Ken

Some guys like a loose nock,as long as it won't fall off the string. But the double nock works great to.Or buy new ones

While we are on this subject can anyone tell me where I can find a narrower X nock. Since coming back into archery a couple of years ago I'm finding that Easton sucks with these nock systems. I shoot XX75 Camo in 1816 and cannot find narrower nocks and now using dental floss on 8strand string to prevent above condition. Any Help is appreciated!
