Just talked to Brian Wessel, he is having me add a blurb on the site about the Tall Tines booth being at Denton Hill. Now that's exciting but not as exciting as him having the first 3 piece Tall Tines long bow with him. Oh man time to find something new for Mama.
-
Well let's see, you have a new fridge right? How's the stove holding up? Flooring? ;)
-
 :campfire: I'v been waiting to see the 3pc longbow.
-
Matt, I just had all the trim in the house painted and I put in a new patio with landscaping out back. You would think I would have some credit built up.
-
The landscaping should put it over the top as long as you're the one weeding and watering it. I think you will be ok. Just do it before Sept. deer season starts!
-
Haha, words to live by for a happily married man for sure.
-
Credit? Credit??!!??
"All accounts for new bows or other archery related purchases will be assessed 'fees of reciprocity' accrued concurrently with said procurements. Previous activities, gifts, 'job jar' work and other kindnesses will NOT be considered in retroactive fashion." :readit:

Pony up, Hunter Boy!!!! :saywhat:

TJ, This may be the perfect time for me to collect on that vacation I took my wife on...LOL
-
TJ,
Hurry up and get the pictures of his 3 pc longbow on the web site....wait....I probably don't need to see it...I'll be broke again.
I'm anxious to see it as well as the 1 pc recurve...any word on when we might get a peek at that one?
-
I'm looking forward to his one piece recurve as well. I emailed Brian yesterday and he said it's the next thing on his list after returning from Denton Hill. Oughta be a good one!

Heck ya Fred, like I told you that was worth two bows. At least that's what is says on page 43 paragraph 3 of my MAN book.

Believe me Billy, I've been prodding him. He a tough nut to crack though. I think the Denton Hill attendees will see it before I do, but you never know. I'll post them up and send them to you if I get them prior.
-
So when do we see some pic's of this new bow? Are there any on the site?
-
No Todd, the bow is being unveiled at Denton. If you would pick me up on your way we can check it out together.
-
Glad to see that Brian is coming to Denton. He is another very talented young bowyer.

Sounds good, but if you are on the way I don't think I can sneak away from my landscape project and get back unnoticed on Saturday. 10 ton of rock down and one to go and then the plants. Send some pic's if you make it.
-
I didn't think his longbow was coming out this soon. I wonder if Steve O. knew about this? He never told me about it, he probably already has one on order.

I most certainly DID tell you about it...you must have "filed" that information in one of those retirement crevices in your brain :biglaugh:
I've got a one piece on order and am patiently waiting; I didn't want to hog all the #1 serial numbers!

Dang bro, after you do that you will be a definite on a new bow.
-
I don't think Steve can shoot a longbow very well... its probably because he never puts down one of his TT recurves long enough to try. My guess is, he will be in Iowa in a few hours checking out a few other Wessel creations.
-
I was able to stop out at the TallTines shop last night. Shot the solid phenolic riser--DEAD solid in every way!
I weighed up some risers for comparison sake. Keep in mind there was one limb bolt in each of these so I could hang them on the scale (maybe 1 oz. extra) and each type of wood will vary, but this should give an idea (lbs-oz):
Standard Riser:
Macassar Ebony 1-9
Brown Cocobolo 1-12
Phenolic w/Osage Stripe 1-15
Dymondwood 1-12
Solid Phenolic 2-0
Long Riser:
Dymondwood 2-1

If I remember right he shot this guy with a longbow.. almost 5 years ago...."You've come far Pilgrim" :goldtooth:

Is there any way to get to see a photo of the longbow strung? Some of us cannot go to Denton Hill. You cannot get all the people into the booth at one time anyway. Thanks, Ken
-
Talked to Brian a bit in the last week. He is putting the finishing touches on my bow right now and asked to take it to Denton before he shipped it out to me. So all you fellas keep your grubby paws off of it if you make it there :) Its brown cocobolo with a bocote stripe and bocote limbs.
-
Ron has a good memory :D
For some reason I have gravitatied to recurves for now; I still pull out my Super Shrew for longbow only shoots and pheasant hunting though.

I'm sure I will cycle back to the longbow soon enough. Mitten knows any time he wants to get HIS longbow out, I will shoot with him ;)
As far as TT Longbow pics go, I thing the grand unveiling will be at Denton Hill. If I can get any before that I will post them for you guys.
-
Steve- All of my 64" recurves are long bows!
-
Guys--I should have some pictures of the longbow this weekend.
-
Steve, that is an awesome picture w/ the pheasant.
-
Okay where are the pic's Steve? People are waiting.....patiently.
-
In order to give, one must receive... :D
Brian was working hard to get orders out and stock bows ready for Denton. He sent me a few pics of some of the stock bows he will have there. Here is one, but I only have a few minutes, so will have to put up the rest later.

If that one wasn't wrong handed I'd make the first online bid!
-
That stock bow is SWEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!! I agree with Duckbutt, it needs to be made for the other hand.
-
Any idea on the specs of that one Steve?
-
You lefties are something else...
I know Brian feels he makes the LH handles as good or better than the RH ones. My buddy Gary has two lefties and he is VERY happy with them.
A4C--I believe most of the bows heading to Denton are 60" and 47-55#.
-
Dang it...if he had any 62-64" lefties I would seriously consider forgoing the wait and getting one of those bad boys ;)
-
Couple more headed east:
Zircote riser and Bubinga limbs
and
Bocote/Zircote riser and Bocote limbs
-
(http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b351/osminski/Bows/1279749143.jpg)
Dymondwood riser and Myrtle limbs
and
Cocobolo riser with Black Glass limbs
-
Nobody buy any lefty risers or long limbs :D
-
Last ones for tonight...

Steve O- How many pro teams are you on????? Are you going to Denton Hill too?
-
Geez Marty-the poor guy is working 20 hours a day to get these orders out for people...he doesn't have time to get on this internet machine thingy :D
YOU are going to have to teach me how to get these pictures up here from the Iphone/Ipad.
-
Where's pictures of the LB? Pretty sure I ordered the first one, at least that's what Brian told me. I gota see, I gota see, I gota seeeeeeeeee!

I put the longbow pics in their own thread.
