Post by: thunder1 on July 15, 2010, 07:41:00 PM
This could be dangerous if the wife was to find out. SO I'll start. A Dale Dye medicine point and a new Blacktail snakebit just ordered today.

I just checked out the Silvertips available on the Sponsor Classified thread. I've never even seen a Schafer, only pictures. I have an e-mail to the folks at Schafer as of last night. I can't believe I'm considering another bow-on-order! I went back and reviewed Sivlertip threads back to 2008 to see what folks saya about them.  Doesn't appear many recurves come more highly recommended?

Can't wait to get it. Shouldn't be too long now.   :archer2:

Silvertip's are very well made and shooting bows. I could accurately shoot every Silvertip I picked up that is in my preferred weight range. I would love to own one some day. I can see that happening. This is the bow I have in my sights right now;

I have gone through streaks... some of mine are long term on order,  such as the Adcock,  probably won't get it from Orie for another couple of years.  The bigfoot in a month or two... picking up the Brisky this weekend!  Hopefully the Toelke will ship next week.  Sapphire whenever Ernie can get it done.  and the list goes on.  There are so many bows out there that I feel I owe myself a chance to own... :-)

I like the last line. I too owe myself a few more bows to own(hmm wonder what the little wife would think of that.)

Darn! I have none on order, but I have to say you make me want to order a couple. You're making it sound so easy... guiltless.

I don't have any on order at the moment, but I'm really considering another Owl bow (have one. It's amazing.), and a Mahaska.  There's something about those that I really find appealing.  I haven't shot one yet, but I really like the looks and haven't heard anything bad about them.

Came back from my holiday to Australia last week and at home 2 bows had just arrived in the mail.

Blackbrook Zeta 2C. 44# @29"
Border Osprey GL 40# @28"

The finish on the Blackbrook are simply above any other bow I have seen...

Looking forward to explore these bows and really get to know them.

My name should be up shortly for another Habu Viperkhan.  Got an older habu recurve, recently bought a used viperkhan with the longbow limbs.  On this one...I am thinking about going with the hycurve limbs.  I better start trying to figure out how I'm going to pay for it!  Other than that...I plan on getting on the list for another Dakota by Rick Welch.

I thought I was done ordering a couple of bows ago. Then folks here started yack'n (singing the praises) about a bow made in Montana.  After kicking the tires of a loaner since last Friday, I ordered my own Schafer Silvertip this morning.

Several fellows here were very helpful as I searched for a used one. To a man, those who had a used bow they would be kind enough to sell-- they weren't eager to do so.  I won't bore you with the on-order-list as it is posted earlier on this thread. Tick, tick, tick...8 months and 29 more days -- I hope 2011 isn't a leap year!

I doubt that. So many bows, So little time. I hope Ernie builds me as nice a bow as I am building for the guy I drew. I'll be one happy camper if he does.

To me its not necessarily so dangerous as to what I have on order its what I find in the classifieds that seem to take the most of my money.

Well, I been thinking of getting on the list for a Blacktail for a few months now. It just feels kinda nutty to order a bow that I've never personally shot, held or seen? And to spend that kinda money just hoping I'll like it??
But I am going to order another Yellowstone longbow. Maybe 5-6 pounds heavier???
