Hey guys new question...
How do you tan hides after hunting both with or without fur so that you can use them ot make quivers, ext. Thanks as always.

i know there is a book out there called making quality horse tack that shows how to make raw hide and tann leather and all that stuff pretty cool stuff im thinking of making rawhide outa my deer hides this winter

This will get you started..type on the search button..type in "tanning hides" but only under pow wow and it will give you several pages of previous topics.

lots of info out there on this subject. I bought a self tanning kit that worked pretty good from a local sporting goods store. really surprised at the outcome. kit says it will do 2 deer hides.

2nd on the 'quick-tan' type stuff. I've done several deer, coons, and a coyote. It's not as flexible or soft as what you'll get by professional means, but it does preserve the hide. I've never done any brain tanning but there's plenty of guys on here who have...

check out wasco they have tons of goodies for tanning and taxidermy
