quick question....what size xx75 arrow would i use to foot a beman ics bowhunter 500? im preparing my small game arrows that i carry during deer season.
-
Been trying to find out the same thing bmb.Can tell you a 2016 is too small and a 2117 too big.Maybe a 2018 or 2020 if I could find one to try.
-
ok ill try a 2018...got plenty! ill let you know
-
1916 works on a Axis 500
-
well the 2018 doesnt work on the bemans..too small
the axis are alot smaller diameter than the beman ics bowhunter 500

If you are looking for inside dia. the 2013 XX75 would be bigger than a 2016 or 2018. Outside dia. would be the same. What is the purpose of footing a carbon shaft with aluminum? I have used Alum on a wood shaft with good results......James

Not sure it's on this list but worth checking.
Footing sizes (http://tradgang.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=000098)

Nope, I can see it isn't there.
When you find out let me know and I'll update the list.

ok ill try some sizes at the shop tomorrow. maybe the 2013 will work. ill let you guys know.
btw- the purpose is to keep the carbon from splintering on hard hits to rocks:)

I footed mine with some 2117's. It isn't a tight friction fit but once you cover the outside of the shaft and inside of the footing w/ epoxy it works fine.
-
ok ill give them a try...have any idea what a 1/2" section would weigh?
-
I also used 2117's I use gorilla glue it expands and looks like it will fill in any gaps,so for it seems to work good.

Just did some math...
looks like 2013's should be pretty good....

i've yet to find an alum shaft that will work perfectly as a footing with beman 500 shafts. and man, have i tried ....

I use 2117's a little loose but seem to be effective with lots of epoxy.
