Ouch! That sucks. Was it strung, or in a hot car? Maybe a higher power was looking out for you, always dangerous when it happens while drawn. Good luck with the new bow, and the retirement! You'll have lots of time to spend with that Montana soon.

That is a bummer about your bow.  I know folks say you can leave fglass bows strung, but I sure wouldn't.  Although, that Montana is a tough as they come.  I've had one a while and like it a lot, although I don't use it as much as the others.  They are fine, fine bows.  You'll enjoy it!

Just take it as a good omen that you had the bow bust while gone instead of in your hands and enjoy the new bow.

It was A slightly used bow and don't want to say make at this time. will be contacting them to discuss failure.
also montana came today nice shooting bow couldn't be happier with it. wish i could shoot as well as the bow is capable. groups improved but still get fliers. bad form still learning.

Hello Dick- I like my Montana as well. From time to time I dream about an "upgrade" to a Shrew Classic, Tomahawk, or others. However, with 6 mouths to feed and other priorities for spending I keep coming back to "the Montana;'s more than good enough!"

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine.

The first thing I did was remove the silly little strip of leather that was a supposed arrow rest with a Bear Hair rug rest and strike plate from 3 Rivers. I've played with the idea of modifying the tips- others on this site have done so and there might still be pics available if you do a search. However- for my purposes, why? It works well for me as it is. I think the only modification I'll make to it next will be to replace the original leather grip with a "roll-on" Sure Grip.

I hunt in the Pacific NW- usually Northern to Mid Coast Range. Brushy Rainforest- the Montana hasn't proved to be too long for me to carry and shoot when still-hunting through twisty/turny Blacktail Deer trails....
