Title: Lost Creek and Kanati Bows
Post by: BUCKY on August 25, 2010, 09:09:00 PM
I have a Lost Creek longbow and I am waiting (2 more days)on a used Kanati longbow. I bought the Kanati because it looked very similar to the Lost Creek.Has anybody shot both of these bows? Does anybody own both? If so can you tell me some differences. Thanks.

Chad Francis first learned how to make longbows from Jason Kendall.  I've got two Lost Creeks, and they're really good bows.

Can't say about the Lost Creek, but just traded for a Kanati and I'm impressed.

Would like to try a Lost Creek but I wouldn't trade my Kanati for anything. Maybe try a recurve so she won't think I'm cheating on her!

Never shot a Kanati but have owned and shot several of Chads bow. Chad has the grip thing mastered. I have yet to pick one up that was not repeatable and did not fit my hand. His bows are very forgiving and will shoot a wide spine range. They are quick as a cat, shoot where I look and to date the bow that I shoot the best is still my Lost Creek...Smooth on the draw and no hand shock. I don't know what else a guy could ask for except "A 2PC T/D ( I'm on the list when it happens)!!!"

Sorry for not being able to compare both for you.

I have other bows and shoot other bows but there will always be a Lost Creek In the rack!!!

Never owned a Lost Creek,   but had a Kanati,  really liked it alot,  was a tad heavy for my needs,  Will be getting another in a lghter weight at some point.

Great grip, naturally "pointable",  fast, stable etc.

Really great longbows. shoot fast and stable.
I had one but sold it because I like longer longbows better but that is just my shooting style, nothing wrong with that bow.

I recently traded for a 54" Kanati and now that I have it dialed in I love it.  Great hand position, smooth on the draw and shoots where you aim...Oh did I mention that she's real pretty too.

I am getting a NAT from Lost Creek for my wife.  I would have liked to gone down to Eddyville, but the info I got from Chad and everyone else was enough to get me to order one.  Katie you are maybe not too far away. His wife has a really fancy one that is 31 at 26 you could check out.  The Kenati I tried out for a few shots seemed good as well, but at the time my form was not so good, so I cannot comment on its accuracy.

I got the Kanati! It's a beauty. The grip is a little smaller then the Lost Creek but it is very nice.It is also just as quick and quiet as the Lost Creek,in my opinion.I will have pics of both tomorrow. These two Iowa boys can flat out build bows!

Love my LC. I believe I started the "I love my Lost Creek!" fan  club. My NAT is the best bow I have ever shot. Can't wait til Chad makes me a TD recurve. (hint-hint)

I got a LostCreek.  All Bocote.  Haven't been able to shoot much this summer but attended a 3D shoot Monday night.  I forgot how amazing this bow shoots.  One of the guys in my group (shooting a high end compouund) said  "those arrows look like darts".  Probably need to order a NAT.

After shooting a couple of day's I've found some differences.I won't say   which bow in public but one is faster one is smoother and one is quieter. It could be some factors as core wood and length.I must say both are very nice.

Jason is top notch. The Kanati is plenty fast and very easy to shoot. Super smooth too. It is hard to believe you are shooting a "short" bow.

Curiosity killed the cat...lol but satisfaction brought him back!

I sent you a pm and I will not repeat whatever your answer is.(It would be called second hand knowledge I'd be passing on if I did)

Thanks!
