heres the situation. i am hunting an area with a lot of deer who seem to have me patterened, they stopped using the run they had used the first couple years. they are going around me through THICK stuff. i put up a stand that gives me a 10 foot shooting window and a good view. the problem is getting there! this stuff is THICK and NOISY! no way around and i'm forced to walk the deer trail to get to it. no doubt i will see deer but unless i walk the same trail i am to hunt which is still very noisy there is no way to get to it. any ideas? it is thick the whole way around, front to back. only thing working in my favor is the rut which makes them do some funny things and anything can happen1

The only two things that come to mind probably wouldn't help now...they would in the off season maybe..a leaf blower or rake to clean your trail maybe right before a rain forecast. Just kind of thinking out loud.
And i went back and reread your post...doesn't sound like a leaf thing. Any way you can clip a path to your new stand?

Don't know the area but perhaps a stand at either end of the trail.

Well… without seeing your setup or knowing any real details about your area, all suggestions are simply blind suggestions. Here’s what comes to mind.

How often are you hunting the same spot? Do you have the option to set other stands?
Which way are the deer moving and why are they moving that way? Enter your stand from the opposite direction of their movement.
Are they going to food or going to their bedding area? Why “were” they using the trail that you are hunting?
Are you setup in their bedding area? Your description makes it sound that way.
Can you block all of the other trails they are using and force them to pass where you want them to pass?

Why is there no way around? Is this ground surrounded by private land that you can’t get permission to walk on for access purposes only?
If this area is so difficult to get to why not move to another spot and try to funnel the deer to you?

the trail goes through about 200 yards of over my head high brush, clipping will not work and no other way to get to my treestand. the tree my stand is in is the ONLY one that offers a clear shot to the trail and it is only about a 10 foot window at that. from the vantake of the stand i will be able to see the deer apporach and get ready. i believe the only way is to either bulldoze through the brush which is extremly load and near immpossible in the dark or stay as scent free as possible and walk the deer trail.

i had been setting up in the same spot fairly often which leads me to believe that patterened me and started going around me. Yes i plan on going in from the oppisite way i think they will be heading which is back to bedding in the morning as you are correct in that i am set up in their bedding. the place i have the stand is THE ONLY place i can put it and get a shot. it is that THICK. i allready have stands where it opens up a bit but as said they seem to be avoiding them. i know i should not be walking the trail to bedding but i'm confident i can get a shot in the 2 weeks of vacation i'm on now. with the rut heating up i am guessing the bucks will be pushing the does around perhaps to the trails my others stands are on which i will switch to if this is the case. thanks for the suggestions, we are on the same page it seems.

Set a stand in a location that has potential, and then trim your lanes. A pole saw and a buddy make it a job that only takes an hour or two to get several good shooting lanes opened up. As for noise, the only thing I can think of is to get to the stand REALLY early so that you won't spook them and it might let your scent blow away a little.
