...he will be an honoured guest if he comes to my house!
Just wanted to let you know...
I live in the medival town of Rothenburg o.T. in South germany with millions of tourists passing through, a lot form the US. I was always wondering if perhaps a fellow Tradganger might have come here as well.
So if someone of you visits the south of Germany, just send me a pm and youll be invited! I could take you shooting with one of my bows at our 3D course, our indoor range or just stumping in the woods. I could show you around, organize a place in a 3D tournament or if you like take you fishing at my own pond.
Id be honoured to have you as my guest.
Regards Axel
P.S. If this thread is against the TG rules and will be pulled, my apology to the moderators. Was not in bad spirit, just dont know if this is ok or not. Thanks

Generous offer Axel. Would like to visit Europe again some day but with the economy like it is luxury trips are out for us. But hope someone takes you up on your offer, would be good to meet other shooters wherever they are.
-
Alex... what a wonderful offer. I hope someone here taks you up on it.....
-
My Mom was born there in 1942, and I still have and Aunt and Uncle, and plenty of cousins, there. He invites me every year, but life always takes over. We all decided to Meet in Hawaii this past Easter for a family reunion. Maybe we can have the next one at his place. I will keep this in mind. Thank you for the generous offer, and if you ever make it to Michigan, I will do the same for you. Good trade.
-
That is a very generous offer Axel. Sounds like a good time would definitely be had. I'm sure some Tradgangers will make it over to your part of the world.
Thanks again.
-
Axel: Great offer. Perhaps I should say cousin Axel? That is the ancestral land of my people. My Great Grandparents came from all four corners of Germany.
-
Axel,
Thanks for the invite. I'll be headed to England again, God willing in late July or August. I would love to see the mountains in Austria.
-
I was in Rothenburg a couple of years ago! My wife and I had a lot of fun there. Wish TG was around then, maybe we could have hooked up.
Maybe next time..... I do get out to Europe every few years so...it just might happen.
Thanks for the offer!!

Dang! I had the family with me visiting Barcelona and Prague last summer, a bit of culture and lots of Pilsner-we could have hoisted a few!
-
Been to Rothenburg twice. What a great Medieval walled city! Too bad I didn't know about a traditional archer who lived there. If you ever get to Wyoming, the invitation runs both ways. Danke!
-
:campfire: :archer2:

Thats a great offer. After seeing the pics of your 3D shoot it would be a great time to come shoot with you.
As Pat said the invitation goes both ways if you ever make it to wyoming.
-
I know I'm repeating others but this is an awesome offer.
Thank you for your generous spirit.
Anytime you want to come to Missouri and hunt, you're welcome!!
God bless,Mudd
-
onions and centaur,
when youve been to Rothenburg, you have more than likely walked by my house as it is 50m from the market place/town hall.
Very interesting to hear about German roots of some of you.
And thanks alot for the invitations, but my next trip will be to Australia for chasing pigs, after that the US is on the list
-
I doubt I'll ever be able to make that trip, but would love to do it.
That part of Germany is where my Grandparents came from. Dad lost contact with relatives there as a youth.
If you are ever in our country, I'll be glad to show you some "Southern Hospality"! We don't ever aloow company, but we love friends! We'll throw another pallett on the floor, and add some more water to the soup, throw another log on the campfire, and swap some lies! :campfire: :archer2:

Axel, 35 yrs. ago I was stationed in Neu Ulm and Augsburg. My wife and I have often talked about returning to revisit my old haunts. You've given me one more reason to visit!
-
Axel,
You live in one of my favorite towns. I was last there in September 2000. I took my wife and folks to Europe for three weeks to show them some of my old haunts. We stayed at the Hotel Spitzweg for a few day and had a grand time.
Cheers,
Kent

WOW! The world is somehow getting smaller in this thread. :D Amazing, i hoped some of you might know my town or were here but id never have thought of so many...
Rick,
the office i work for is right in the niddel between Augsburg and Neu-Ulm, so i know these places qite well, too.
Kent,
my primary school was right next to the Hotel Spitzweg (the big orange building iy you remember).
gobblegrunter,
thanks for the offer. When i go to America it seems like id have to do a "Tradganger-round-Tour". Love that thought! :bigsmyl:
-
Axel,
Yes, I do remember your primary school. I just looked at the photos from our last trip to refresh my memory. Christmas is such a magical time where you live. I wish we were there.
Cheers,
Kent
-
Axel, been there many times! Great place, my family and I spent 12 years in Germany! We really miss the Bamburg area and our many Christmas's in the Black Forest! Hope to get back there one of these days! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and your family!!
-
Axel, We were in your city a long time ago for a 3-day trip. Stayed at a very nice b&b. Your city is amazing, like stepping back in time. You are very lucky to call such a borgeous place home. Thank you for your kind offer.

I have a very good friend who spends his summers here and returns to Germany every winter and I keep telling myself I will one day go with him for a visit. This invitation makes it even more likely. His name is Hubert and his business is www.fischhof.de. (http://www.fischhof.de.) Is this anywhere near you? Bob

-
I know that I will never make that trip money reasons and at 60 I hate to travel in airplanes and all the sercuity. However, I do appreciate your offer and hope some Tradganger does contact you. If you ever get to Ohio you can stay with me.
-
Back at you Axel. Much obliged. Never know when things may work out. b
-
Canadabowyer,
thats about 400km from my home.
mysticguido,
Of course, youre German is easy understandable. Ahh, the Oktoberfest, most expensive beer in Bavaria ;) have never been there myself but a friend living in Munich.
BTW. Hows that screw on light working for ya?
-
Hi Tradgangers,
I'm in as well, super idea "Saumensch", if you are in Rothenburg already, perhaps you would like to visit Munich, or Garmisch-Partenkirchen as well. Just email me, you and your famillies will always be welcome! Although no bowhunting possibilities, there are lots of 3D parcours to visit, and of course a lot more to see. In the evenings we'll sit in my garden, have some beers and a barbecue and you will have to tell all your hunting stories.
Hope to see you soon!
Bernd
-
Great gesture German friends.
-
Of course, our italian friends are welcome as well!!
But I think, I'd rather visit you. I still remember your photos of spring in italy!
Best wishes,
Bernd
-
Bernd, the Mattlehorn is beautiful also seen from the South, and some wild boars can fall under your arrows, plus we still have a trade to complete!!!
-
Axel,
I was in Dresden last summer. The Zwinger is a wonder! I hope to go visit the family homestead near Rosenheim in the next couple of years. Please be in touch if you are coming to the US!

Axel: I have my ancestral home in Fellbach. We are planning on going back again for the Pfander family reunion and October fest in 2011. Doing a 3E would be great. I'll bring my own bow as I hope to hunt with Caccatori on the front end or the back.

Man, I have been to a few places in the world. Lived in Russia for a bit of time and enjoyed it -- kinda sorta. Germany is on my list s a gotta go to. My Sister has been in Italy for a yr or so with her husband (military) and made several trips up to Germany and she just loves it. Her and her husband both have said how pretty a country it is and how cool the folks are. She sends me alot of meats and breads from there. NO BEER??????
Love to take you up on the offer and maybe someday in the near future I will be able to! it is ver generous of you - cool to bring the bow with me for some stump roving.
