Title: From the box to the backstop!
Post by: Mudd on January 18, 2011, 03:29:00 PM
They arrived!!! HH "Robin Hood" and Bama Hunter.

I took them straight out of the box, strung them up(nothing else)'

I shot six arrows (Thanks Snag!)out of each bow at 12 yards.

Two at once? How did you decide which one to go after first? Hows that HH feel?

The Bama is 68" and 50@28.

You are correct, it does feel a lot like Christmas!

Thanks for the kind comments.

That is one dead burlap sack.

Two at once!  That's just not fair.

Two beautiful bows Mudd! I'm partial to the Bama, as I have one, and the grain in that Bocote is awesome. When you can I'd be interested in your opinion of how they compare in shooting characteristics. Congrats!

Mudd, you musta been doin sumpthin wrong. If you did everything right you could not possibly have grouped those arrows that way without bare shafting and messing with the nock point, brace height, positive tiller, etc.

You better start ALL over!   :saywhat:

My initial thoughts are that it's not going to be possible to compare these two bows.

They are as much different as they are alike.

Both need some tuning but I really like them both.

Thanks for the kind comments.

Mudd, nice bows you got there. I am a Hill and don't own a Hill yet. That will change. I have a Bama hunter I bought from Nate about a year ago and they are sweet shooters and whisper quiet.

To a pretty nice guy, I say, "Those are some nice, purty bows."  May you have grand adventures with the both of them!

Notice I did NOT say, "...to a nice, purty guy..."

I don't know LONGSTYKES, I have 12 in my quiver still and I shot my quiver empty yesterday.

Maybe I missed the target so badly it didn't make it into the picture.. It could happen but if it did I'm sure lost as to how.

Edited: I went back and recounted those in the pictures and get 12 each time. I do have my glasses on. Do you wear glasses?...lol If not you might want to check that out...lol

Maybe I just need to go shoot them again. Hey what a great idea, I'm glad I thought of it.

If I want to do any shooting I'd better get it done soon as we have another winter storm blowing in this afternoon. They are calling for upwards of 6-8 inches.

God bless,Mudd

Nice bows, nice grouping. There is something about those first arrows flying off the shelf of a new bow and hitting their mark. They look like sweet shooters. Good for you, I see a lot of enjoyment in those two bows.

I agree!!

Roy, they certainly look like two entirely different bows but both are handsome indeed!

Man, two bows in one day...ah see you have a problem my friend.  Fortunately you have initiated the 12 step process.... that'll help you alot!

Now, just shoot 12 arrows each and every morning and there is a slight possibility you will work your way outta this terrible disease....    :saywhat:

In answer to your question ripforce56, no! The one on his website has a slightly dished grip and mine is perfectly straight. As far as I can tell that is the only differences between the two.

God bless,Mudd

PS: Thanks to all for the kind comments.
