Got any pictures of your Great Northern bows you could post?
I'm interested in a Bushbow but having a hard time deciding on limb and riser woods.
Thanks!

Try the search function in pow wow. You may find pics and info on the Bushbow. Good luck

Red Elm under clear glass and Cocobolo I think.

Thanks for posting the picture. Very nice looking stuff. Really like that bottom picture that shows the limb width.
Anyone els have pictures? Any Great Northern bow picture would be great.

Beauty! One of my all time favorite bows. Unfussy, smooth as glass and easy to be accurate with. Is there anything else that matters? :notworthy: :) :notworthy:

not a bushbow but here's my critter gitter. Both the critter gitter and the bushbow are made on the same form.

I am loving the look of the green glass bow.
I have two GN bows. A Critter Gitter Sp with the jack knife handle a real joy to shoot and carry. And a Fireball with the jack knife handle a little longer but so smooth to shoot and boy they both hit hard. Will try and post some photos of the two for you.
Thanks for your time.

German Dog and I have been discussing this all week. He wants to get a Great Northern Bushbow and I'm wanting a Critter Gitter, but neither of us can decide wood choices. So I have two questions for some of you with experience...
Are all of Great Northern's current riser choices made with Dymondwood? I'm not a huge fan of it, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker.
Second, does anyone know which limb wood options they offer besides what is listed on their website. For example, the speckled pecan is awesome looking!
Nice looking bows fellas. Keep posting the pics please!

I believe Jerry only uses indigenous woods in the riser. That translates into diamondwood stained to simulate woods like shedua, cocobola, etc. Likes to stay with indigenous species of wood in the limbs as well, mostly red elm and hickory. Also offers bamboo. Bamboo gives the moderate r/d bows a little more zip. That's my choice.

Used to be you could get an osage riser; I believe the rest is stained Dymondwood or equivalent. Pretty sure Jerry only does the Jackknife on the Dymondwood. I've got two with the speckled pecan veneers and one with Ambrosia Maple, plus a 4th with skins. Best thing to do is call Jerry; very easy guy to deal with. Short turn-around time, too...

Here's my Jack Knife Bushbow with Osage limbs and Shedua riser.

My green critter gitter has an ash core. If I remember right I could have gotten maple, ash, bamboo, or red elm.

Very Nice good pics

breakfast boy, Give Jerry a call, great guy, very easy to talk to,builds a great bow.
-
Hey Molson, that is the exact bow that I ordered!
-
The old school green Bushbows are really cool lookin!

I called Jerry today and ordered one of his catalogs. He said that he is willing to use something other than Dymondwood for a riser material, but not on jackknifed bows. On any bow with his takedown system, he will only use the Dymondwood because it's more durable and he torques the bolts down consistenty.
As for limb wood choices, he has other options in his shop but can't possibly show/list them all in the catalog or on his website. I only live 2 1/2 hours away from him so when the time comes to place an order, I'll just drive up and spend the day.
Thanks for posting pics and giving some input fellas. Keep the pictures coming!
