Title: Question about Bemans
Post by: SEMO_HUNTER on March 04, 2011, 08:43:00 AM
It's been awhile since I've used Beman arrows, so I haven't really kept up with them over the years. I know that alot of you shoot the MFX classics because I've seen them in lots of posts while on here.

My question is about the Max4 500 Bemans, are they the same shaft as the MFX Classics only with a camo finish rather than a wood grain finish?

Thanks for your input.

That's how I understand it.

Thanks SteveO, that's kinda what I figured also, but couldn't find anything on the website that supported it. It's always best to ask the masses for confirmation.

I just called my contact at Easton (the are the Beman folks also).  They've never heard of "Max4 500 Bemans.  Maybe something being lost in the translation?

My wife's been shooting the 500's for years and your conclusion is correct. They are the same shaft as the Classic with a different finish.

Thanks Bill that's what I was hoping someone would confirm because I just bought a dozen on sale.

Bowwild- From what I gathered it is a discontinued finish or series and they aren't making them anymore, but quite a few vendors still have a surplus including the one I just bought mine from that are on sale. That may be why Easton couldn't find it in their data base or inventory?

So based on what Bill said, the new version would be the MFX line with different finishes, but the same shaft.

Ok, that makes sense. The person I talked to is very familiar with current offerings but no doubt discontinued stuff ceases to be top of mind.

Oh yeah, especially if they are fairly new to the company. If it's not in thier data base or the company cataloge, then they don't have a clue that it ever existed.

If anybody wants the link to these shafts that are on sale, just PM me and I'll send it to ya. They are like 50% off regular price, new shafts not blems.
The website isn't a sponsor here so I don't want to post the link publicly.

The camo Bemans are lighter than the classics according to the print on the shafts.

I have some and mine are the same except camo, 9.7 gpi. I think the camo finish lasts longer.

9.7 gpi are perfect for me, that's exactly what I've been looking for and at the price I bought them at, I'm not getting hurt one bit.
I usually find out about these deals after they are all gone, this time I lucked out for a change.

The finish doesn't matter one way or the other to me, but the performance does matter. I hope they work well for me, otherwise you'll see em in the classifieds later on.

I believe that 3Rivers has brass inserts for these shafts? You may need to call and speak to a representative to make sure you get the right ones. That would be your best bet, that way you know that you got the right ones and they will work.
I may be looking for some myself when my shafts get here, but I'm gonna wait and see if I even need them or not first.
