Title: How to christen a Stalker Longbow
Post by: Bjorn on March 17, 2011, 04:14:00 PM
This is Bob Larson, who you may recognize from Glory Hogs II with the Stalker Longbow he got from South a day or two before

I'd say the bow is official now! Nice hog! What are the specs on your setup? Looks like a great day all around.

Bob called me right after he had shot this pig.  He had gotten his new Banshee in the mail, but I was out of strings for the 68" model so my string maker was sending him one directly.  He wanted to try it out, so he put on a string that was an inch or so too short and went out to his archery range to put some arrows through it.  After his third arrow out of the bow, he apparently woke a boar up that was sleeping in the trees below his range.  Bob was able to sneak down the hill and with only his fourth arrow out of the bow, shot this huge boar.  He estimated it to be about 225 pounds live weight.

I am not jealous of my brothers but perhaps a little envious.

Some pick up a bow and shoot it a few rounds to determine if they are a match and some just take a bow and shoot a hog first to decide.

The bow woods are Osage and Bubinga in the handle.  The back is kingwood and the belly veneers are cedar.
