Title: JK Traditions Kanati
Post by: KentuckyTJ on April 07, 2011, 03:07:00 PM
A long tube showed up from Michigan this morning. Strung it and have shot about 60 shafts already and can tell this will be a lifer for me. I have always loved the lines on the Kanati's and when I saw this one in the classifieds in my specs I pulled the trigger.

Thanks Steven (Jacobsladder), I think you have really messed up brother. But I for one am glad you did.

Jason makes a very nice bow. I don't do hand shock and that is always a worry with a light weight one piece but you won't find any here. It set up very quickly with the cut to center shelf and shoots with authority. A very smooth draw with no stack what so ever. Grip fits me like a glove and the fit and finish is very nice. Very satisfied with this one.

I judge bows by many things but one thing that is very important I think especially for a hunting bow is if you can move the pressure of the weight of the bow all around the grip and still get consistent flight. This Kanati passes that one with flying colors.

58" 50lbs @ 28"

Nice bow Tom...glad it worked for you..I was nervous to say the least.

I am a little sad you like it, though as now there is even less chance I will ever get it from you...  :banghead:

Haha, Jake does have first shot. I asked him, Lanier and my brother Doug Catlett as I knew you all have or have had one. I also searched Trad Gang and i couldnt find a negative word about this bow.

I bought one for my best bud thinking it would be a good starter bow for him. This man has helped me build a house and helped me get large ungulates off the mountain a few times...I made the mistake of shooting it before I gave it to him and ALMOST gave him another bow!

Great bow and great find Tom. I see a dead turkey in it's future  :)

I love the grips on Jason's bows. I've owned four of them. 2 Kanati's and 2 Kobekona River bows all were great shooters.

Thanks guys, TJ I am glad you like it, I find the actionwood edge grain veneers to perform very well with the bamboo core, a nice combo for sure.

I have 2 Dymondwood bows left them I am switching back to the Actionwood handle section like TJ pictured, I am getting to the point I cant stand the smell of Dymondwood anymore even wearing a respirator most of the time. I found a great source for Actionwood now so I am able to lower my base price a bit too.

She really likes my 500 spined carbons with 100 grain brass inserts and a 150 grain broadhead. Turkeys beware.

let me tell ya the more and more i shoot my Kanati the more i love it as it is not picky with arrow spine or weight, i can grab an assorment of arrows and it shoots true. having a heck of a time with a few other bows of mine!

TJ..... glad you like it bud...i wasnt kidding with you when i said it was a shooter....i do think it found a good home..If it had been 4# lighter you would of had to pry it from me.

Jason Kendall...I owe you an apology..This is the bow i was going to send to ya and have some weight removed...I finally came to the conclusion that i can only shoot 1 bow at a time..and ive got a couple collecting dust right now that i cant let go for sentimental reasons... My apologies for not giving you a heads up to let you know i wasnt sending it... i dropped the ball on that!  :knothead:

T.J. ..I've made many of transactions on tradgang and i really enjoyed ours..thanks
