Title: Down 0-2 at a quater to nine and he swings!

Well I went out again this morning and got down 0-2 before 7:00. Missed with a bullhead and then tried a quick shot @15 yds with a grizzlie.

He never got too scared and continued to strut off to my left until a hen led him into the woods. Meanwhile there was another tom off to my right that must have been camped out right below my house, he had been making his way up the field by the sound of his gobbeling. He took up residence about 50 yards to my right with a hen who soon left him. He strutted, drummed and spit for an hour before he finally decided  to check out my decoy. He slowly eased into my shooting window and when I had the view I was looking for I let a griz go right into him at a whooping 4 yards. He flew about 200 yards and never moved after he landed.

The turkey gods have treated me super this season!! And I had a blast chasing them.   :)

Great job and congrats!!!

Was slightly tempted this morning by a gob strutting and gobbling from 22 to 35 yards for nearly 20 minutes. With several more yards to go, it wasn't that difficult to hold back. The show was grand.

Doug and Tom,
This is my 2nd MO bird and #3 for the year (1 Nebraska bird). I have been VERY LUCKY this year. I have never tagged out with a bow and never this early with a shotgun! Just hope I can find one more for my daughter!

Yes I watched him fly off and saw him go down (he is a dot in the second picture just to the right of the big round walnut tree (farthest one) in the right hand side of the window. I thought I had shot him a little far back but it got lungs. He hit a folded up!!

Those DSD decoys are worth their wieght in gold!! Never had them act this way with my cheapy decoys.

Goodluck to everyone, I hope your season can be as fulfilling as mine has been so far this year.
