i just started building wood arrows i got mind from surewoodshafts they are dougless fur got there premium grade hardly any staighting needed.  i would guess your spine to be in the 63  65 lb range but like i said i just started others know way more than me

Your two bows will need different spines. The psa is cut past center while the pl is cut to center.

The PSA should work w/ 65/70 or 70/75

The PL should work w/ 55/60 0r 60/65

This is assuming a fast flight string and 125gr tips.

I would get some Surewood shafts. They are great!

Bow weight 53 lb Plus 5 for FF and cut to center add 10 but your arrow is at 27 so subtrat 5 and I would start out with 65 / 70

Check out spruce arrows from Hildebrant.  straight and tuff as carbon.  Also which ever arrows you are getting make sure they are weight matched

Ok I have more questions. 1. When I get my shafts do I need to shoot them bare shaft like I do my carbons? 2. If I put a stain on them will this mess with my spine? 3. Should I shoot 125 or 150 tip

You can bare shaft, but I don't bother.  If the spine is way off, the arrow will come off the bow almost sideways and often break in the target.  Cut a few to length (28 inches to allow for the one-inch point taper and one-inch shaft overhang beyond the back of the bow), fletch them up and shoot them.  Stain/finish doesn't affect the spine.  Try both weight tips.  One is likely to shoot a little better than the other, but the difference will be so little that you're not likely to detect it.  I concur with Prairie Drifter re spine.  As others have already pointed out, Hillenbrands Sitka spruce and Surewood Doug fir are excellent shafts.  Doug fir is heavier and tougher than spruce.  You might want the extra weight of fir in a relatively short arrow for hunting.
