Post by: S. Brant Osborn on July 10, 2011, 06:26:00 AM
A friend recently uncovered a Browning Fury1 that has been under the guestbed inhis home for about 30 years he says.  Itlooks nearlynew andhas no twists. It is 54" and 50@28". He gave it to me ANSI am looking forward to shooting it.

Can anyone helpme withstring length and brace height?
Thanks

I bought a Fury 1 45# @ 28" in 1973. Brace height that works best for me is 8". I have been as low as 7.5" and as high as 8.25".  String length is 50". It shoots and tunes very well with a Bear weatherest. Tough to tune off the shelf as it isn't radiused much. Have fun with it!

Shooting CX Heritage 150's cut to 29" with 70gr insert weight and footed with 1.5" 2216 shaft and fletched 3 x 5" feathers. Really likes these arrows.

Great! You know as a trad shooter you have to wonder just how many homes have these old bows lying around that will never be loved again.
