Sorry you're hurting.

Could be many things really.

I'm assuming the pain is in your string hand.

Arthritis, not a good enough tab/glove, too much draw wt.

Maybe you need to shoot just a few arrows more often to build up your strength.
Could've just overtaxed your joints/muscles by shooting too much at once.

I have shot more than that many times and just started hurting the last few weeks the pain is in my string hand in the first knuckle of my 2 middle fingers.Glove seems to be thick enough it feels like maybe it is pulling something in my knuckle.

Ed,
Well you could be like me and sever your hand in a logsplitter and not have any feeling...I shot 13 rounds of 13 arrows today and had to quit due to the heat but not cause my fingers hurt cause they have little feeling...All joking aside it could be just Arthritis setting in...If you haven't shot in a while like me it takes a few rounds to get my joints flexible again...I sometimes will pull my bow back and hear a crack in my elbow with the first draw and then I'm fine....As you get older our joints start to lock up so to speak...

Ed,

How long is your bow and maybe it's just because most of the weight is on that finger? Are you shooting a short bow with a lot of weight?

Shooting a samick sage 62in 50lb at my draw.I shoot almost every day and sometimes they hurt and sometimes they don't.Sure don't want it to mess up my hunting season.

You may have just answered your own question Ed...Not sure how much shooting you do in a day but that could be too much and is why the joint pain...If you can skip a few days a week and take it easy on the finger that pain should ease up...I know it's hard to put the bow down but find something to take your mind off of wanting to shoot so much...Make a string jig and try making your own strings, arrows, string wax,quivers,etc.etc.etc....If you are new to tradional archery it is hard not to shoot so much but by giving your fingers a rest will be better for you and you won't wear your joints down as quickly....God Bless, Keefer's <><

I have arthritis in my finger joints. i had to make my own tab out of two heavy pieces of leather. This helped a lot but some days it still hurts some. aging is no fun!

Dehyration can cause a bunch of problems. Joint pain is one of them. Its hard to drink enough water this time of year. Could be part of the problem. Rob

Might be the onset of rhumatoid arthritis. I hope it isn't.
