Curious as to how many shoot Cock Up, mainly on narrow handled L/B's and Hybrids ...
-
If you fletch with LW feathers in a full helical, your odd hen feather will be in the "up" position.
If you use RW feathers...turn the cock feather in to achieve the same setup.
-
I do.
-
I always put the cock feather to the riser. It works as a sort of buffer.
-
I do also, on all my bows
-
I used to have a bow that shot best that way. It is worth it to take the time to experiment with nocks.
-
Joe Skipp summed it up pretty good.
-
Was told this by a good source, if you shoot carbons, odd feather in, everything else is out.
-
I just put em on the string and go. If I have index nocks on then I try to get the tab pointed out. It doesn't affect flight, just my quirky personality. I use a lot of 4 fletch, so there isn't a cock/hen position. On my three fletch arrows, I do use a different color cock feather, and will usually make sure it's pointed out. But again, it doesn't seem to matter. Just appeases my sense of right and order and is less likely to distract me.

I set up all my bows to shoot cock feather up. Works great for me and a couple other bowyers told me they shoot that way too. You can find those bowyers in my signature.

I like to shoot cock feather in, so the hen feather is touching my nose and the middle finger is in the corner of my mouth. Push the bow slightly and let the arrow fly.
-
My arrows feathers are all the same color also. I use a majic marker on the top hen (nose) feather. I know, I am cheap.
-
have been for many years..........
-
i have tried cock feather in and out. i get the same flight on either one. i think if you bare shaf tunet your arrows it dosn't matter the patter you attach you feathers. i'm no expert though, just my experience.
-
I use natural turkey feathers most of the time, and make sure they shoot the same whether the cock feather is in or out. One more thing I don't have to think about at crunch time.
-
Ever bow I have, I shoot this way.
-
Adam, I think I mentioned this before, but being a lefty you will get better clearence and flight w RW feathers.
-
Up for me I seem to get better arrow flight and it realy bugs my buddies when they want to try my arrows.
-
i always shoot my cock feather out and down-8:00 position...always have.
-
I shoot cock feather slightly canted left from straight up. I was told to do it like that by the previous bow owner. Said it was quieter that way. Not sure, but I do know it's quiet!
Not sure it makes a difference.
-
I always shoot them up, it just looks like it clears better, but what do i know?
-
i shoot cock out not in. dont know why but it works fo me.

Yes...when I fletch up 3 fletch.
-
I hear that Black Widow recommends you shoot cock feather up.
-
Up but canted toward the riser ever so slightly slightly so the inside hen is in the corner of the riser a little more.

Yup, started about 6 years ago! Shawn
