I have a Martin Savannah 45# bow that for some reason likes a 7 1/4" brace height. I know the max on these is 7" but when I adjust it that height I keep gettin` my upper lip slapped with I guess is my tab. I`m just wondering if the over max on these bows is harmful to the bow ? Does anyone else have this issue with the Savannah`s ? :dunno:

no matter what the brace height, yer lip shouldn't get in the way of the bowstring as ya let 'er go ..... well, unless yer kissin' it? oooo, that's plain weird! :D

It's your form, I had that happen when I first started shooting trad after I would get tired.

Sounds like you are short drawing it.

It`s right near the corner of my lip. I anchor my bugger hook on my front upper canine tooth and have always done it that way. I shoot split finger. I guess it could be from getting tired since i`ve been shooting quite a bit today. I really don`t think it`s the string. :archer2:

Burch... you may need to trim your tab. When you lay your fingers on the string, does the tab extend out past the end of your fingers.... it shouldn't.

Nope. I shot a lot better today, guess I was just tired.

Sounds like you're turning your head into the string.
