This is a bit different in that this bow draws 36# @ 28".
Bought this bow for my wife several years ago. It is a sweet bow, walnut all the way. She is not shooting it much right now so I thought I would play.
First, does anyone know how much proud or past center the shelf is cut on this bow. Second, can anyone give me a starting point for wood arrows for this little beast. I will be drawing a true 28" and would like to have a finished arrow at 29". I would also like to shoot 145 gr glue on field points. I want to keep the shaft in the smaller diamater range and surewood shafts are not out of the question. I want something that is straight and not hard to keep that way.
I guess I am getting a jump on one of my winter projects.

Mason's Dwyer likes 60-65's and his bow was 52lb @28. Arrows were POC's cut to 29" BOP and 160 tips. I would try a 45-50 spine Bruce. You could order a test kit from Surewood that starts at 45 and goes thru 60 maybe ? We also shot some Heritage 90's out of it too but bet they would be too stiff. The other Carbon Express arrows that are in the .600 spine range are the Thunderstorms I think ? Even then I bet you gotta put 200 grains up front.

Huntschool. I believe Dave cuts his risers 1/8-inch from center.
Given that you're probably shooting a fast flite string and that you want to shoot 145 grain heads, I'd recommend shafts spined about 45-50#. If you're going to primarily shoot targets with this bow, and want a light arrow, I'd recommend 5/16 cedar shafts. They're available in this spine weight. Surewood shafts are also excellent. Don't think they're available in 5/16 though. They'll generally be a little heavier (and tougher) than the cedars.
To determine how centershot your riser is, string the bow and view it end to end from the belly side. Line up the string with the center of the limbs and see where it bisects the arrow shelf. If your bow happens to be cut to center, add 5# to my recommendation.

This will be a "nothing but targets" set up.
I am actually started thinking about trying a long taper on surewoods. I have the set up to do it but wondered where to start with it.
I guess I am worried about maintaining straightness on the 5/16 shafts.

Several sponsors on here sell Surewoods I think ? I want to say one sells them tapered as well if you are looking to drop some weight. I order mine direct from Surewood, just google them up bud. They will work with you on physical weight too. I ordered mine around 400-410 raw weight and when finished with a 160 tip I am at 610 grains. Bet you will be spot on at 45-50 spine with that bow.
Worried about straightness...... now that is an oxymoron when talking about Surewoods !!! Bruce, these things are straight and stay straight all during the arrow building cycle. I will never fight with POC again unless I find some 40 year old ACME's or something. Love my Surewoods !
