Title: Ozonics
Post by: wv lungbuster on October 15, 2011, 09:05:00 PM
Anyone seen this product yet? Just watched a commercial on sportsman channel. The things they  market these days. So I guess you hold it over your head for the 1/4 mile to your stand, then when you arrive at your stand you install it over your head if your arms not to tired.     :biglaugh:   And you won't leave no scent.

I have an artificial heart valve and I sewer the deer can hear it when I get ready to shoot. Maybe some one will sell a muffler for it. Ho hell, my wife wouldn’t let me buy it anyway

There's always a few pinheads that will buy these products whether it's the Ozonics, ozone machines, 6th scent junk, scentlock etc.

If it helps your confidence then it might be worth the money but I killed my elk this year wearing old bdu's and a T-shirt at 16 yards.
Solo from the ground on public land.
No coverup scent or special camo needed.

I'll bet used in conjunction with the new Lazer Broadhead and Ravage Nocks it would be a pretty good set-up.

It amazes me that we are here today.  However did ancient man feed his family and survive without the technology for all this crap?

Someone must believe they work, Sportsmans Guide has them listed and they are "Sold Out"! There's a sucker born every minute, and I guess most grow up and watch hunting shows on TV. Maybe they should just save their money and use it to buy steaks at the grocery store. If their looking for easy....that's about as easy as it gets.

The folks that buy these are most likely the same people that bought "Turkey Scent" as an attractant for longbeards.

We do use those machines in the automobile industry to get smells out of the inside of vehicles.
So I guess if you had a Gillie suit that you couldn't wash you could use this machine to get the stink out of it.

I have not seen the comercial so I don't know how they were marketing it.

I will buy the invisible cloak when it comes out  :bigsmyl:

I don't use one, and I won't pay the money for it even if it did work. I hunt with a trad hunter that swears by it. Live and let live.

That being said, the chemistry behind it does make sense. People really use these for scent elimination in their line of work.

Yeah it's pretty crazy what people with buy just because they think it will help them be more successful in the field.

Now fellas come on.  I know that for every product that truly works there are 1000 gimmicks.  I don't believe the scent sprays or scent suits work.  However from what I have researched the science behind ozone is pretty sound.  This is at least more than I can say about other products in my humble opinion.

Now I won't go out and buy one just because some knuckle head on TV is promoting it.  But if I learn that this is a sound product, that works, and is reliable for many years its something I would probably consider.  I use camo and a leafy suit to fool their eyes, perch in a tree to get out out of their line of site.  If there was truly a product that could help me slip past their noses, well that company would have my attention.

Yea I have killed deer while wearing shorts and a tee shirt while soaked in sweat when they had no idea I was around.  But just last evening I was perched in a tree, a beautiful set up overlooking a bean field.  Large tree with great cover. One of those trees where you can do jumping jacks in the stand and the deer won't see you.  Last night was the only time I got to go hunting over the weekend and it was going to be a short hunt at that, just the last two hours of light.  I knew the wind was iffy, if they came in from the south I would be OK, from the North well I would have some problems.  Wouldn't you know it they came from the North and just as they entered the killing zone the lead doe got a whiff of me and off they go.

Now I don't have an Ozonics and don't plan on purchasing one anytime soon, but I will keep watching and if I find out they truly work, well this fool may be tempted to part with his money.

To me whether it works or not is irellavant. I hunt for the experience of challenging an animal on its home ground using my instincs and skills, not science and mechanical engineering. This is true whether its a squirell or a whitetail buck. It involves setting limits for yourself and being true to them even though it means you might come home empty handed. I dont use compounds or crossbows, scent blockers or bottles of synthesized deer pee . I dont expect everyone to do the same and I dont look down on those who dont. For me using something like this ozonics cheapens the experience. which sounds better, I took this 8 point because my Ozonics had fresh batteries or I took this 8 point because I used my skills to figure out which trails he was using and how to place my stand to outwit him.
God Bless
Buck

I like the rage commercial where the caveman shoots the flying whatever. Too bad we don't have them to hunt.

I can see using one to keep your clothes as scent free as possible. It's hard for me to see spending $500 to have it with you in a tree or blind.

This is coming from somebody who hasn't shot a deer in 7 years. Hey... maybe I AM that desprite!

Ive had one in my basement for over ten years to get the musty smell out, it works! It wouldnt work in a tree stand but in a ground blind given a little time maybe an hour or so I think it will work to some degree and if the conditions were right. If i just had about 4 miles of extention cord I could tell you!!!!

They are advertising them to be used in a tree stand also. But you need the more expensive one that works better in a tree stand. It has a turbo boost button or something.

Tim you'd never be able to keep your honey hole a secret.

Shoot I could follow an extension cord easier than your boot tracks...lol

Thanks for the laughs!

I have one and I have used it. I guess I'm what a lot of folks would call the "sucker", but it works and I've used it for three years now and had deer walk downwind of me within a few yards and they never knew I was there. To each his own.

Good luck out there!

I'm with some others - it probably does work a little bit (people use them in closets to remove clothing odors), but the thought of having to hike in that contraption, hoist it up in my stand and install it over my head is kind of nauseating.  I don't have problems with a lot of things that help hunters (like a Thermacell), but bringing a large machine in my stand is not what I think of when I picture hunting.

Plus, I already have enough to deal with moving my climbing stand, safety harness, bow/arrows, and hip pack up a tree in 85+ temps.     :dunno:
