I have always read posts of those that had a bow blow up in their face and always wondered how it happened.
Well, this morning I was trying out these 58" 54# Predator Hunter limbs that I finally received from the White Buffalo & it actually happened to me.
I was actually inside my house, becuase I always take the first 4 shots at 30 yards when stringing up a new bow to shoot.
Well, I got amost back to anchor on my very first shot and POW!!!! The bow exploded EVERYWHERE, it was a very SCARY experience that I hope never to repeat. My wife and daughter were in the next room and thought that it sounded like a rifle being shot. :scared: :scared:
The only problem is that I had "sold" this bow today to a repeat client in AUSTRALIA. So I am letting him know of the situation, but very glad it happened to me and not him.
I am thankful that I wasn't hurt and still don't know why it happened as the limbs were in NEW condition and looked perfect???

Oh man. I dread the day. Glad you are ok Barry.
-
Really sorry to hear that, but very glad to know you weren't injured. It makes no sense, but sometimes the accumulated stress finds the unknown weak spot in materials or a glue joint, and BOOM.
Glad you made it through unscathed!
-
It happened to my grandson :knothead: he left his Bear super kodiak in the trunk of his car on a hot day ::: Glad your ok
-
Glad you didn't get hurt Barry! I had a wheel bow blow up a long time ago and put a piece of glass through my arm, not very much fun. :scared:
-
it"s happened to me twice since 2005! and I don't shoot 1/3 of the bows you do brothA! glad your ok.
-
Dont'cha just HATE IT when that happens! :scared:
-
Holy...... Smokes!!. Glad your ok brother, and glad your family was not close.
-
Nothing lasts forever. Some go before others.
Glad you were not hurt.
-
It is a scary monent. I've had 4 bows give up on me over the years and you never get used to it, cause they only do it at full draw.
-
Could have been worse! But I definitly feel for you.
-
Been lucky so far. Glad you didn't get hurt, Barry.
-
I thought that only happened to Old Bear bows???
-
glad you were unharmed barry.very scary...
-
Thats too bad :(
-
Bummer, glad your ok.
-
Glad your unharmed!
-
Sorry to hear that Barry. It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy!
My late brother once had a wheelie bow explode on him.... not pretty!
Have a great Christmas.
-
Wow Barry, glad your ok. I had a two piece longbow of a very well known bowyer go on me a few years back. I was at full draw launching an arrow across an open field and BAM! The top limb smacked me in the forehead and the bottom limb smacked me in the ribs.
It happens so fast you kind of just stand there and look around....
Merry Christmas buddy, onto another bow!
-
Glad you you were unhurt. I've never had it happen, not with any bow in nearly 5 decades.
I want to know how did you feel when drawing the next bow to full draw?!
-
Very glad to hear you are OK!
-
Thanks so much everyone.
LOL, I haven't even picked up a bow yet, since it happend. I ALMOST shot my Bear TD at a squirrel in my wood pile yesterday, but he spooked when I opened my back door.
I am going to try and tame the demons and get some practice shots in today. :archer:

Oh, that is just ugly and sad.
Glad you weren't hurt. I've never experienced it ('till I said that) but was beside one that let loose at an indoor range. Just a bad thing all around.
-
Sorry to hear this. Glad your ok! I hope I don't ever experience that.

I have an old Bear Kodiak that I no longer shoot for fear of it.
