Hey all,
I just finished checking out the thread with the Firefly in Osage with the skins and that is a great looking bow. It has caused me to want to see more pics. So those of you that own Firfly bows, how about posting some pics? If you want to throw in some additional comments on how your bow shoots, performs and feels, I wouldn't complain.
Does he also make TD Recurves? Like to see pics of those as well.
Maybe you all can clear something up for me about these bows. I have seen a few pics of these bows and a few of the TD longbows I have seen looked like the riser was just a tad bit different than the standard pics on the website. These LB risers looked like the grip had been modified where it didn't have that "recurve" style palm rest. Is this true or am I just seeing things?
Anyway, I'd like to see more pics and hear more range reports of these bows if you all don't mind posting them. How do these TD Longbows stand against other TD LB's that you have had experience with?
Thanks for the time and info.

Jim Jones is a great guy to talk to and deal with, and his bows are superior. Mine is 59 pounds at 28 and is hands down the quietest bow I have...it draws so smoothly most people who draw it do not believe it's 59 pounds.
It is also the one bow I own that will shoot an arrow right where I am looking every single time, no matter what. And, it is quite fast as well.
Mine is Bacote and Bloodwood......once I figure out the photobucket thing, I'll put some pix up.
Give Jim a call.

I was lucky to pick up a beautiful Firefly TD recurve with 3 sets of limbs for a steal on the classifieds (Thanks Ron!). It is one of my favorite bows, and a real looker! Unfortunately, I don't think he offers the recurves any longer, but I'm not positive. Wouldn't hurt to give a call to see if he would do one for you.

There is a gorgeous Firefly on page one of the classifieds right now............

Jim only makes 3 pc longbows at this time....he has been working on a new recurve design, but is not offering yet.....I have 2 of his 3 pc longbows and cant express how pleased I am with performance, smoothness, and shock free quiet..Jim does the extras by adding phenolic to the limb pads for added strength and installing brass bushings in the alignment holes..super honest man and great bow

I think you may be seeing the difference between the Firefly FX and the newer model, the "Route 66". The FX comes standard with a grip probably best described as a recurve medium, although Jim can build you one anyway you want it. The Route 66 has a slightly different riser (best seen by comparing them side to side) and the grip is more like a recurve low style grip. The Route 66 reminds me of a Bear Grizzly in the hand.
I have enough pics to make you dizzy but I'll see if I can scrounge up some you may not have seen.

Here's a gorgeous FX that belongs to Terry L. I'm not sure on the woods but it's a beauty.

Here are mine. You won't find better customer service than Braveheart/Firefly. The grips are superb and these bow are smoother than silk!

oh man I would kill for a set of curve limbs on mine!

Jim's bows are as good as any I have shot and he puts some nice touches/extras on his bows that other don't.

here is mine. I got to have some recurve limbs.

This is a link to a thread about the bear I killed with my Firefly that has some pictures. Jim builds a very quiet, smooth drawing and hard hitting bow!

I have a really nice one that I took in on trade, but I never have gotten around to shooting it. It is a 60 inch recurve 48 lb. tigerwood limbs and looks like a dark olive colored wood for the riser with crossing stripes in it. Evidently one of the few woods I have never worked with but looks really nice. I guess now I am going to have to take the time to stting her up and see how she shoots. The model is FCX.
The grip on this bow is nice. Feels a lot like a Bob Lee grip to me.
God bless you all and Merry Christmas, Steve

Nala, Jim will also make different length risers (usually 15" or 17") as well as different grip heights by buyer request. That may also account for some of the slight differences you noticed.
Nice bows Margly! I like that "wrong end" shot hah hah.
