Title: A suggestion
Post by: David Mitchell on December 26, 2011, 12:55:00 PM
Folks, I notice that a lot of people do not know how to post pictures on the classifieds.  It can be a pain to keep sending out pictures by e-mail to all who request them.  If those of us who get pictures of items listed could just post them on the sellers ad post, it would be a nice favor, save them having to e-mail everybody who asks, and be a much faster way to check out bows or other items that are listed. I have done so for other guys and it only takes a minute to save the pic to my computer, post it to my photobucket file and then get it up for the seller.  How about it?  Help out the computer challenged.

It's a great idea. But if I may suggest, get permission from the photo's author before posting it. There may be some other reason they have not posted the picture.

I did that once on a quiver posted for months. After I posted the pictures, it sold in three days. The power of pictures.

Do it all the time. MOF, twice today.

Better would be a simple online pic file transfer facility. Wrecked big 3 times w/Photobucket. Never a problem at all w/Imgur.com which is also free. There are others.

straitera, I have noticed that you have done that often and always appreciate it. I did so recently for a guy who had sent me pics of a lefty bow and by the time I had processed the pics and gotten them posted I talked myself into buying the bow myself.  Glad I did too, she's a real sweet shooter.

Pretty good idea, it's so easy though.  I'm a complete computer moron and I learned easily with photobucket.  I'd be glad to help by pm if anyone is willing to use photobucket.

Good story Dave. One of the advantages to helping others. How about bow pics?

In my case, proper downloads are still often a mystery. Not sure what I'm getting involved with. And, was just never sold on the idea of posting pix anyway. Add 3 download wrecks & I convinced myself pix weren't necessary at all. But, I was wrong. Pix WILL help your item sell. And, once you figure it out, you can help other folks post also.

Trick is finding a photo storage site easily managed especially w/o cloudy downloads. Lee Robinson, Keep It Simple Archery, helped w/mine. Took 5 minutes & I've been posting since w/o problems. BTW, my comp is older at 6 years. Maybe we could have a pic post thread describing the process at each site offered & why? Bet many folks are still pic shy having the same associated questions? Know they'd like to close the gap. Good thread.
