Title: New Talltines is a keeper for sure
Post by: Danny Rowan on January 10, 2012, 06:02:00 PM
I recieved my new Talltines from Brian a few weeks ago and have been shooting it as often as I can. My Schafer and Brack Quest are very jealous,LOL.

I cannot say enough how much I am in love with this bow, this is my second Talltines and at 62" it is perfect for me, my other was 58" and I did not shoot it well, this one with the longer riser is the ticket.

This is my first group today from 25 yards. Did I say I love this bow!

62",55#@28",shedua riser with macasser ebony flare, olive ash limbs, wonderful checkered grip.

Just a fantastic bow, hope to kill a pig with it soon here on Guam.

Takes special group to inspire me to take a pic.

Yours is a special one.

The 62"rs with the long riser have raised the bar.

Danny, what is the red or maroon looking color flare in the riser? That is one beauty.I have not ever gotten to pickup one but man its tempting to order one and hope I love it as much as you do.Did Brian make the grip special for the shape of your hand? What makes the 62in so much better for you?is it more smoother and easier drawing?I have 2 tips and the 62 in draws easier than the 60 in that I own.By the way,I bought your brother Donald's Assenheimer a few yrs back.

see,

I just shoot a 62" bow the best. Most short bows have a smaller sight window and I need the larger sight window for my style of shooting.

Trust me guys, I do not shoot that well all of the time, but I am getting to where my groups are like that more often than not. Some days I am just dialed in from the get go, others not until I get warmed up a bit. I shoot from 10 yards out to 40 yards during a shooting session.

I have been looking at the Tall Tines base models and then you see bow porn like Danny's      :biglaugh:

How do they compare to a Silvertip?

Beautiful bow Danny.

Dont worry about the base models Bishop. They are still beautiful. I have one that I showed on the other thread that I am very proud of. In fact it's a 62 inch.

I remember it Lin, that bow just crys out "Hunt Me".

The last 2 bows I've ordered started out to be zebra wood in my mind and I've ended up with bocote on one cocobolo on the other, and now I'm getting a Bear affliction.

Felix,

My other TT was all zebrawood both in the riser and lams.

See, sorry, the riser is shedua with a macasser ebony flare.

Pierre,

Yeah, Keith told me you could not put that bow down. Hope she performs well for me if not we may talk,LOL.

Danny,

Congratulations on a gorgeous and great shooting bow!  I just shipped my riser to Brian recently.  He's glued up a set of 62" limbs to go with my riser.  He's going to refinish my riser and also checker the grip for me.  I'm looking forward to getting it back and shooting it.  I'm going to be shooting it during our spring turkey season.

Great looking bow Danny. Luckily I am broke or I would be on the waiting list for 4 bows right now and one of them is a Tall Tines.

Felix,

I do not know, but it is great work, just as nice as on the Schafer's or Dale Dye's.

Brian is always a pleasure to speak with, I can only hope people order his bows for they are a pleasure to shoot and the craftmanship is top notch.

Danny, that is just flat out mean! I was just getting back to being content with my one bow when you had to go showing off your new TT.   :banghead:   You have too many gorgeous recurves for your own good.    :nono:   Congratulations on the new bow!

Very nice.
The Tall Tines looks very close to the Silvertip,I don´t say it´s a copy but the influence is visible IMO.
What are the main differences between the Silvertip and the Tall Tines???
Thanks
Have owned a handful of  Tips myself but never seen or shot a Tall Tines in person.

Differences? Although there are visible similarities between the 2 bows they are indeed very different. Both great bows, but a question you'd have to answer yourself after shooting both. Like I've heard here before..."Beauty is in the eye of the bowholder"!...
