...because if you DO, and make the shot, you may have a heck of a time getting the big critter out of the deep hollow you were dumb enough to be hunting in by yourself. I had to reduce her size a bit and pack her out. Another notch on my new Tall Tines.

Thanks everyone . . . with a special nod to Killdeer, from the posts she's made over the years I'd say that she is one knowledgeable and conscientious lady.
-
That is a big doe! Nice work. Enjoy the meat.

Well done again Gary, the TT has mojo. I like the quiver.

Gary~ as everyone has said, Unbelievable photo. I agree with primitive....love the jacket, what brand?

Nicely photographed, Gary!
I'm impressed that you still have the lens covers for those Steiners! I think I lost mine the first day I had them!
-

Each of your posted pictures is a lesson in how to make it classy. Please keep giving us quality stuff to reference our own work against.

Congrats, that's a hefty doe.
-
That was a big ole gal for sure.
-
Enjoy'd the hunt pictures, they create a wonderful story in the minds eye. Thanks for sharing.Gary.
-
There's a reason for that Gregg; I keep a close eye on those Steiners. There are certainly better binos out there, but most of them don't work as well for me. I wear trifocals and the Steiners have good eye relief and simply "fit" my crazy lenses better.
-
Outstanding harvest and pics! Thanks for sharing. How far did you end up having to pack her out?
-
Beautiful job all the way!
-
Wow! That's what all of your pictures say to me.
That is a big old doe! Thanks for sharing her with us!

Congrats and God Bless
-
Very nice!
-
Congrats!
I too like your coat and hat. Perfect autumn camo!
-
That's a great photo. Congrats on your kill
-
The jacket and hat are Classic Bowman. My CB hat has a much shorter brim than the Stormy Kromers I own, the one I have on in the photo has a short
Bowman's Brim" for string clearance...also a set of "ear muffs"' that pull down from the inside. Great hat.
-
very nice sir, i love the coat on that deer too.

Gary, I guess you know you just sold some clothes for Classic Bowman. :) This is the style and type jacket and hat I have loved since I was a kid. Your photography didn't hurt matters either.
Congratulations on taking a deer the traditional way.
-
Great JOB!
Really like your camo too
Especially the quiver hood.
-
Nice job Gary, congratulations!

I used a 300 grain VPA 2 blade.

Fine job, Gary. Congratulations!

FYI, I took the big doe with the same arrow and 2 blade head that I shot the gobbler with last week. A wet cloth and a little steam put it back into working order. As expensive as arrows are to build I am a firm believer in "recycling". :^) The lead doe was walking when I released the arrow at close range, hitting her at an angle. She flipped sideways, fell to the ground, and exploded back the way she came for about 40 yards before totally shutting down. The arrow struck the back of her left lung, passing through the right before breaking the right shoulder where it attaches to the leg. Still spins true . . . guess it may find it's way back into my quiver again.

Thanks Bernie, I always like to hear that someone's wife appreciates one of my photographs. In my early years of bowhunting I became appalled (still am) whenever I witnessed disrespect for the animal or the act of hunting, be it in public, on TV, or in print. I was a certified IBEP instructor for many years and was always finding ways to include tips on photographing game in tasteful ways. A lot of guys have been wanting me to do an article on the subject and I'm thinking about it if one of the magazines takes me up on it. I'm sure that I would have a lot to say, HA.
