Fellas, I have owned a Fedora takedown for almost 15 years. It is my only hunting bow and I have killed a ton of animals with it (literally). It is long past needing refinishing and i have a couple of questions.
1. Can I do it myself ? If yes how?
2. Can the stain be changed to a darker finish color?
3. Is there someone out there who does a good job on this type of bow?
4.Should I send it back to the bowyer?
Thanks, Dave

Prairie Traditions Bow hospital and Two Tracks Bow & Wool Co. both do excellent refinishing from what I've read on here. Both are sponsors and link to their sites can be found in the Sponsor List drop down menu.
I myself feel comfortable refinishing a riser but not limbs. Staining darker shouldn't be a problem.

Send it back to Mike and Jason....the bow will look brand new.

I would think doing it yourself would provide a sense of satisfaction, and make the bow even more special than it already is. You can carefully sand the old finish off and restain, true oil, or helsman spar urethane are good options for finsih.

Send it back to Mike and Jason. I did and mine came back brand new.

Mr. Fedora is a class act. I would send it back to him. He went way out of his way to help me with one I had bought second hand. I don't forget things like that.
