I have 1 week archery elk private land hunt available in NM. There are 4 landowner tags. I hunted there last year for the first time and was overwhelbed by the quality of bulls. I was into bulls every day of the hunt and saw only 1 bull that was not a 6 pt. or better. In fact, I was 30 yards from the largest bull I've ever seen in my life. He was a 400+" 6 pt. with about 25-30 cows. It was about 15 minutes after shooting light. I have some video of him from later in Novermber so he lived through all the seasons and unless he was hit by a car or killed by a lion, he should still be in there.
As mentioned this is a private ranch and has only been hunted for 3 years. 100% kills within 1 1/2 days on bulls with rifle and muzzle loader. Many bulls are literally dieing of old age there since the tags are so limited. Pretty amazing. The terain is what I would qualify as EASY having hunting many years in CO and ID. No big climbs at all and wide open Juniper and Pinon Pine in the rolling hills. Cushy ranch house with satellite TV and 3 hot meals.
I would be going again this year but I have a conflict in September and can't. I'm trying to find someone to take them this year cause I want to lock them up for next year again. So, thats the stipulation, that I get them back next year if you take them this year. I have never paid for a hunt like this until this one but you will not find this quality of a hunt anywhere for this kind of money, PERIOD!

Good luck Stickman. Sounds like you have a good situation. I'd be interested but got lucky and drew for Unit 52. What unit are these huge bulls in?

Beachbowhunter, I was lucky to get them last year cuz I tried the first year but he only had 3 tags and they were wrapped up for the first few years.
One of the guys wife came down with cancer and had to cancel so I filled in last minute. Now I can't go this year but want to lock it up for next again.

Please forgive me for asking, but, uh ... are there any high fences involved? Doesn't sound like it, but I suspect I'm not alone in wondering.
