Title: Which Aluminum arrow
Post by: Indiana-jim on March 05, 2012, 08:35:00 PM
Looking to get back to aluminum after years of carbon. Which spine for 41# @28. And what are you guys shooting brand wise? Going to be mostly 3d. Thanks for any input

1916 Legacys would be my choice. Leave'em full length and tune away  :)  Cut if necessary. A simple tube cutter from the hardware store can cut them easily and some hot melt glue from a craft store for reinstalling the inserts.

what bow are you shooting? I thought I nailed it with my arrow choice but shooting a longbow thats not cut very close to center I need a lot weaker arrow than I would for a center shot recurve.

For a 41#@28 bow I would look at 1813 or 1816.A 1916 with a 125 gr. point will put you in the 475 gr. weight range.Do you draw a full 28",and is it a longbow or recurve?

I shoot 1916s on my 45-50 lb bows. You can play with different weight points to dial it in.I'd bet 145 gr points would be about right.
