Took my buddy's son out for the second CT youth turkey day this morning. He shot a nice tom last week and got a real beauty today. Stopped at the coffee shop and saw an old friend I haven't seen in years. We used to shoot 3-ds and hunt alot together. I told him I was starting to shoot trad bows again and he told me to stop over his house. I just got back from his house. He gave me my old shrew longbow,(red elm&rattlesnake backed.)He borrowed it atleast 10 years ago for a boar hunt and we both forgot about it.Asked me to try and sell his Herb Meland bow(I'll be posting it in the classifieds later) and gave me a Heritage archery Bridger mountain longbow to keep. It was a great morning, the kid got his bird and I got some bows.
Here's a pic of the bows.
Herb Meland is a fast flight NightHawk,62" 59@28
Shrew is Elm limbs,54" 63@26
Bridger Mt.is cocobolo? riser,yew limbs.Black glass back,clear belly.Looks like a black glass or carbon center lam.64" 63@26

Wow, what a day! Some sweet bows there, and the price was really right.

Some very nice bows there Nick! Any one of them would have been nice but 3 is hitting the jackpot! Good hunting.

Keeps getting better too,the mail lady just dropped off the Hill Black bear("Blondy") from Blaine. Just came in from shooting the Bridger Mountain, that thing zips out an arrow.Hey Buddy thanks for sending me those emails of the summaries, interesting reading.Gotta dig out some heavy arrows and give "Blondy" a try now!
