Ron B...It's a far cry from those heavy weights you shoot but if I can't handle it I'll give it to my wife...
-
Glad you found one Fred. If it's your first BR, it undoughtedly won't be your last. Then again if it's your 3rd it won't be your last either :bigsmyl: (I just ordered my 4th).
-
Thanks guys.
Pete, It's my second. I have one of John's '59 Kodiak replicas and I love it. Guess I'm gonna have to add more pegs to my bow rack. :biglaugh:
-
Had a Big River 69 SK,if its any thing like that you'll love it ,they are shooters.Best of luck with her.If you need a place to store it,my wife lost count after 20 ,shes now totally confused LOL

Well, it came earlier this afternoon and it's even more striking in person. The myrtle lams are just awesome looking. After an initial getting acquainted shooting period, here's what we're doing now at 18 yards. I think we're going to get along just fine.

Glad it worked for you. Those lams are pretty rare on a Bigriver, John doesn`t use them much. Looks like a keeper.
-
That is a great looking bow, Congrats!!
-
Nice Fred :wavey: Good Luck with Her and Good Hunting :archer:
-
Great shootin' Fred!
-
Told you so :p
Now the real problem, you will want 10 more, just ask Joe and Rafael. :readit: :saywhat:

I think that 55#er is too much for you, luckily I have a 50#er I'll trade you. :bigsmyl: :goldtooth:
-
Terry, Thanks for the offer but this bow has a home. If however, you want to sell that 50#er my buddy who shot mine last night might just be interested. Fred
-
Fred,
I took a double take when I saw that picture of your new bow. Looks almost exactly like the one I had John make for me a year ago. Coco Riser w/ Myrtle limb veneers. The only difference in our bows is my leather grip is black - and mine's 60 lbs. It's the best shooting and most consistent bow I own!
-
Nice bow. That style is a really fine shooter.
I've had almots all the different bows that John builds. They all have shot better than average.
My favorite are his Hill style bows. I have owned Hill style bows by Howard Hill, Northern Mist, Sunset Hill, Ted Kramer, Pete George, and David Miller.
From a shooting pleasure standpoint I would rate John's version right up ther with David Miller's as the best of the bunch.
Killed a nice buck with one this past season.
Enjoy that 59' copy.
-
Fred, I think I'll keep my 50#er unless I can find a 55#er (hint-hint) Your bow is really a good looker! Terry
-
Pete, Sounds like another beauty. I'm not sure what my riser wood is...someone said it might be chechen.
Jay, I'm loving that '59 Kodiak.
Terry, No problem. Thanks.
-
Real nice Fred, good luck with her. Taking it out for Turkey?
-
SWEEEEET bow!! Yeap one or two is not enough. Been shooting Trad since Feb of 2010, and i ONLY have 7 Big Rivers. Would be nice to through in some pics of that 59er you have also??
-
i'm fred's buddy and am a bowaholic.
a 50# big river??? i shouldn't but i'm not strong to resist....
-
Joe, I think I'm gonna use the 59 Kodiak for turkey. This baby is screaming....whitetail.
Rafael, I'll post some pics for ya tomorrow.
Mike's got it bad!!!!
:archer2:

Here is Fred's 59' er. It is pretty unique as it is only one of three that I've seen that have the orange belly and brown back glass.
I've owned two of those. I love them but they are too short for my long draw.

Thanks Jay.

Darn Fred,
I really should have bought that one :readit: ;)
Make sure you contact me first when you decide you like your Zippers best and the 66 Kodiak is the only one you'll keep in your stable.
-
Charlie, I shot the 59 today at Whittingham, it's not going anywhere... :bigsmyl:
-
Sweet bows, Fred, those veneers on that BR are awesome!
-
Thanks for holding onto it for me Fred ;)

Another Big River 59'r that I once owned. It to had the orange and brown glass combo and sculpted tips. 53# @ 28". This design is really easy to make quiet without having to use big silencers and super heavy arrows.
